Revolution in Pakis tan is an impossibility ,what people generally mean by revolution here is an improvement in an already semi functional existing system in a rapid radical way .
In a country where People start fighting with you if you ask them to not smoke in your nose or not to spit right and left or not to urinate here and there , what is the chance that one day they just get up from bed purified from all ills . Then there is a million ,army ,police ,civil servants each ,with interest in the system ,will they just stop breathing or become immobile and allow a singing and dancing Imran khan to reform them . This is unlikely .
Revolutions occur in societies where there are wealthy people counted on fingers with property and means and millions left out ,if there were indeed such circumstances they were between 1947 and 1978 , and militarycoups spoiled that chance .Now even though there is poverty but property owners are in tens of millions , no socialist revolution is possible . No matter how hard street hooligans like to kill and destroy , no matter how hard a lesson in lawlessness is given by TUQ and IR , they will be lynched . That type of scenario even if Imran khan and shaikh rasheed try hardest to create , which before them Bhutto and khar tried to create will not occur but they will be actually hanged if they do that .
So by revolution is it meant that better deal for village folks , then allow me to say that democracy has worked to detriment of urban lot and favoured unjustly the rural lot , see every government office of federal or provincial government or police , almost 90% posts are occupied by villagers , how were they placed , did they beat urban boy with urban education in competitive exams , no ,they were recruited in droves with low merit by local politicians by subsequent waves of democracy , they then helped each other rise due to
sifarish culture deeply embedded in in our rural folks
Apart from sifarshi recruitment these feudal rural politicans did not work very seriously in improving villages and made palatial houses in their villages where they come to govern for a few days and live in Karachi ,Lahore and islamabad etc themselves . Imran khan will neither win in villages and neither did he win in last elections , if he brings merit it will be resisted by rural folks but that means that people from good colleges ,often in cities will get everything . Crime is a sport for some in our rural areas and local politicians main task is to get their boys released .
funds for social services dissappear because WAPDA benefits not only itself , but gives to energy industry and pashtuns as well as army , there is steel mill to be looted by MQM and Zardari ,there is PIA to benefit PPP and retired officers ,all subsidy if stopped and the monopoly finished will bring at least 200 billion for social support for poor . Then there are overinflated weapons procurement systems ,then there is a non functional judiciary . These are small moves but poor can benefit . Why do not we allow banks to stabilize food prices , why can we invest in agriculture . These moves do not require revolution , Why we allow selling of plots ,this raises urban living cost as they increase in price with every changing hand .
I regard the investment plan of Nawaz from china and middleast a good plan but not enough , IK and TUQ will not be able to bring that type of wealth in the country as they are not experienced ,they are social workers who get money via donations ,they essentially are a type of tax men not creators of wealth , Pakistan needs creators of wealth ,we are already oversupplied with political slogans and tax men and orators .
