Close friend of mine who is also The MQM supporter made a laughable comment on Facebook claiming that Imran Khan will get to keep 85% of donation given to him for SKMH and RC. So according to him Hospital of that level can be made with the amount of less then 150 Million (15 crore) Rupees (1 Million).
I would therefore like to take this opportunity to educate my innocent friend and tell him that in 1999 head of the National Audit Office, reported to Parliament that NHS Acute Trusts in England held medical equipment with an estimated value of whopping 3 billion that is 450 billion Rupees. Point to be noted that this amount was spent on equipments of some 8000 GP practices and 2300 Hospitals only and the amount spent on infrastructure was audited separately.
NHS net expenditure has increased from 64.173 billion in 2003/04 to 109.721bn in 2013/14. Planned expenditure for 2014/15 is 113.035bn. This amount is almost 6 times more then Pakistan's annual budget of 23.3 billion in 2013/14.
With all due respect you can probably make a small clinic with the amount you had in your mind but definitely not a Hospital of an international level.
