Following are a few thoughts on the six promises that were made by Khan Sb, and what could have been a better alternative strategy for 23rd March speech:

what a lame post. it is very easy to criticize someone because, us pay koi kharcha tou hota nahi hai aur na hi mehnat. IK has done a lot of work for the welfare of the people of Pakistan, so dont tell me, that he doesnt know that people are facing problems of gas and electricity shortages as well as less job oppotunities. He made promises that no one ( the so called political leadership of Pakistan) has dared. he spoke of honesty and truth . Did you hear that in the past? we have always been victims of lies. and if you lie once , you lie repeatedly. IK does not lie and he never will. he will stay truthful and with that alone, all other things can be sorted out. we trust him . He will work with education and health as he has already done in the past as a philanthropist. he knows the IMPORTANCE OF all the things you mentioned already. yeh roti kapra makaan kay puranay naaray abb bohat lame lagta hain.:)

Seriously? You live in Sweden yet your thoughts are just so jiala'ish ? I am so sick and tired of these 'Internet Kay Cheetah" who knows nothing about the real-world politics and how people conceive a national leader. Have you ever heard the election speeches of Pres. Obama or Pres. Brown ? And what about historical speeches of Bhutto and Lincoln and Thatcher or even Erdugan ? All of them mentions the 'real issues' of people , and keep mentioning them till the end of the polling day. IK and PTI (and I am a supporter) think that they have conveyed their manifesto to a common man just by organizing a few conferences @ Marriott, Sheraton and PC, and by publishing those Power Point Slide Decks, and putting the manifesto on the website. Even Obama, running for the Pres. of US never relied on these resources, and kept on mentioning his health care plan, immigration policies, terrorism policies in EACH and EVERY "jalsa" !

well well well! I may sound like a jahil to you. but you are trying to be over smart here. Yes, I live in Sweden but its not as if I dont know about my country and the problems people are facing there. I follow IK through and through. if you remember, IK clearly mentioned in the beginning of his speech on the 23rd of march that he is going to put his manifesto before people but before that he wanted to make some promises. But nature was planning on something else and then there was heavy downpours. He couldn't continue. He must have intended to present all the solutions to the issues that you have raised in this post.

do you think he doesn't know what he should be talking about? he has come so far, after a lot of hard work and he knows what he is doing. but again some things are beyond our control and the rain that was obviously one of them.
Has he not mentioned these issues ever? I think he has , lots of times.

It's sad to know people's knowledge base remain limited even after their thorough "follow up" of IK. You are living in hallucination and got no ideas about numbers, statistics and polling results of IK and PTI in the last 3 elections where he participated very "ACTIVELY" !

Please spend some time in listening to his speeches from 1996, 1999 and 2001 and it would be to your utter surprise that speech content of him has NOT CHANGED even a bit ! And this is not something commendable, he needs trainings and enlightenment just it's like it's required by Misbahs' tuk-tuk or Afridis' pompous endeavors. But guess what, folks like Salim Malik or Nawaz Sharif or Imran Khan got a steel rod in their necks - they are born 'leaders' and so when time comes to show some 'flexibility' and take a little practical approach with life (like Obama did in accepting Hillary as Sec. State) , like increasing the run-rate (SM), or be considerable with mqm (NS) or with JI/Sheikh_Rasheed/Sardar_Asif/Dr_Shireen etc. (IK) , they fail miserably.

Lastly, just look at the total votes IK got in the past elections at ALL the NA seats where he stood on his own ticket by himself. Except for the Mianwali seat, he lost on all the other seats, even on the ones in Lahore from the areas of Zamaan Park, and in the constituency where he built the SKMT Hospital. I am sure even Prince Aga Khan runs from NA 251 in Karachi (home of Aga Khan Hospital) he would get better votes than what IK / PTI got from the SKMT constituency. So people, seriously read the above six promises from a common person's point of view (who do not care if IK keep his kids/money in Pakistan or not) and then do some fair and reasonable critique ! :jazak:

In 1997 , IK's party put up candidates on 134 of the country’s then 207 National Assembly seats, just behind PPP’s 160 and PML-N’s 176 candidates.
The results, however, were disastrous. PTI could not win even a single seat. None of its candidates could even qualify as a runner-up. Half of its candidates (71) received less than 2,000 votes each. Only two (NA-21, Swat-1 and NA-53, Mianwali-1) surpassed the ten-thousand mark and both seats belonged to Imran Khan. He, in fact, was a candidate from nine constituencies but his only substantial performance was in his ancestral Niazi homeland where he polled 10,716 votes, standing third – so much for the rhetoric against biradari-ism (brotherhood). PTI, in total, received 314,820 votes or 1.65 per cent of the total votes polled in the country.

PTI performance in Elections of 2002

PTI was represented by 94 candidates in the 2002 elections. All except one failed miserably. Sixty-seven of them polled less than 2,000 votes each and none except one qualified as runner-up. The party received a total of 242,472 votes, which was 72,000 less than 1997 figure. In terms of percentage, PTI’s share was 0.8 per cent of the total polled votes or half of its previous share in polled votes. Khan himself contested from four constituencies and won on the Niazi area seat of Mianwali. He was the runner-up on a Lahore seat as well. Khan received 101,407 votes on the four seats. Only one other candidate of his party received votes in excess of 10,000. Votes received by the Captain, personally, were 42 per cent of his party’s total votes.
So the hot stud proved to be a dud.
My glass ball concluded with a villainous laughter that charisma earned in a specific sector (sports, film, social work) comes in a particular currency that cannot be freely exchanged into another of your liking, not at least in the political market. If he couldn’t twice, how can he do it the third time? Punjabi urban middle class meanwhile have to make do by just ‘changing’ channels on their new flat screen HD TV sets or maybe also the brand of the potato chips bag in their hand.

it is 2013 , dug up history enough?

How many seats did All india muslim league won in 1937 elections?

The promises stated by you are good and will be made by PPP and PMLN.

The people need an honest man who can govern this country well and has all interests in pakistan. Patriotism is the first condition and then all that. The policies have been announced if you care to visit the PTI website before coming up all Gandhi.

The six promises were supposed to be followed by the main points of manifesto but he did not get the chance due to the weather
