At the press conference to launch his All Pakistan Muslim League (APML), When Journalists asked Musharraf if there was any credibility in the reports that Dr Imran was considering to join his party or whether they were close to each other. Muhsarraf replied bluntly: "I have never met Dr Imran Farooq and never knew him."
The former president also said he didn't know how had the papers reached to this conclusion. At an informal event after the launch, he was again asked by a guest over tea about Dr Imran Farooq. Musharraf again insisted that the news of the murdered politician was like a revelation to him and was completely baseless.

I have to agree with GeoG but add this is a recent phenomn that MQM Har Forum Par Zalyl Ho Rahi Hai
Next election will reflect that in numbers too as MQM will not be able to fill the ballot boxes they managed or allowed to do during Musharraf era.
MQM is really scared of Imran because Imaran is the only one who can take away MQM votebank in chunks rather than individuals and then he will be on moral high grounds to punish the goons in Karachi and London, that is if they did not kill each other before that or even suicide of Chief Bhatta Khor.
