The Quran tells us that Allah is extremely displeased with those who prohibit anything that is not specifically prohibited by God (16:116). The upholding of any prohibitions not specifically mentioned in the Quran is tantamount to idolatry (6:148-150). Such prohibitions represent a law from some other god(s) besides God. Worshipping God Alone means following His Law and no other law.
