ayub khan ? was he from same college ?
yes .

Trained at British Sandhurst Military College, Ayub Khan fought in World War II as a Colonel in the British Indian Army. He opted for Pakistan and joined the military upon establishment as an aftermath of partition of British India in 1947. He served as chief of staff of Pakistan Eastern Command in East-Bengal and elevated as first native commander-in-chief of Pakistan Army in 1951 by then-Prime Minister Liaquat Ali Khan in a controversial promotion over several senior officers.[SUP][2][/SUP] From 195358, he served in the civilian government as Defence and Home Minister and supported Iskander Mirza's decision to imposed martial law against Prime Minister Feroze Khan's government in 1958 .[SUP][3][/SUP] Two weeks later, he took over the presidency from Mirza after the meltdown of civil-military relations between the military and the civilian President.[SUP][3][/SUP][SUP][4][/SUP][SUP][5][/SUP]

Ayub Khan only went there for training. For that matter, every year, at least 1 PMA cadet is sent to Sandhurst for training.

The news above is about a Pakistani officer going for as a trainer/instructor, not as a cadet. Major Uqbah first went to Sandhurst as a PMA cadet. Then he went back as a platoon commander when he was promoted to rank of a Major. After serving as platoon cmd for a year or so, he returned to Pakistan...and now has been sent back to train cadets in counter terrorism.
He indeed is the first one to serve as an instructor in Sandhurst. Kudos to him

Oh come on dude! This is an honor, both for Maj. Uqbah, and for Pakistan. No need to demean it by making awkward references.

Sandhurst is perhaps the most prestigious military academy in the world. And Pakistan has been sending 1 or 2 cadets to PMA for training every year for the past 69 years. This is the first time a Pakistani officer has been selected to serve at Sandhurst as an instructor.

If you look at our civilian rulers, they jump up in joy even after getting to talk to Donald Trump on the phone, concocting fibs about what he said to Mr. Sharif. And here, we have a legitimate case of excellence.

Just like its an honor to be educated in a western university, getting trained, and then work as a trainer in Sandhurst is an honor.

Colonialism is a thing of the past. In colonial UK, a major from Pak army would not be invited to come and train British soldiers.

getting education in western universities for job or better life is not an honour it is need of the hour ,lakhs are doing it .
pakistani instructors are as good or even better than sandhurst ,this is ghulam mentality which finds pride in getting educated in malik's school .
nawabs chowdhrys, sardars and rajas had done it in past , you can see pride on their faces if you happen to see some old black and white photo of the pre 1947 indian elites of sandhurst.
japanis don't find any pride in getting military education in sandhurst .
they were not second to britishers in world wars .

You are mixing elitism with merit.

Rajas, Chaudhrys and Nawabs got educated in return for money, in places like Eton. THats elitism.

Sandhurst is a military academy, like PMA, and merit rules. Even sons of havaldars/subedars have gone there to get trained.
