Help : Looking for short term mobile data device in San Francisco

Will be visiting San Francisco for a week and looking for mobile wifi device. Does someone know any rental service for mobile wifi data device? or Any other short term data plan offered by US mobile carrier.

Edit: You should also take into consideration where you will be staying and if there will be free hotspots available. San Francisco scores pretty high on the number of free hotspots publicly available.

almost all the cellular companies provide short-term or 'pay as you browse' internet plans but verizon is the cheapest by far. however, they are on CDMA network so you will have to buy a CDMA device.

AT&T & METRO PCS are expensive but provide GSM services but you can use you existing GSM device on their network.
