Hazrat Abu Huraira (Radi Allah Anhu)
[Sahih Bukhari : Volume 1, Book 3, Number 118]

Narrated Abu Huraira (Radi Allah Anhu): People say that I have narrated many Hadiths (The Prophet's (sal-allahu- alleihi-wasallam ) narrations). Had it not been for two verses in the Qur'an, I would not have narrated a single Hadith, and the verses are: "Verily those who conceal the clear sign and the guidance which We have sent down . . . (up to) Most Merciful." (2:159-160). And no doubt our Muhajir (emigrant) brothers used to be busy in the market with their business (bargains) and our Ansari brothers used to be busy with their property (agriculture) . But I (Abu Huraira) used to stick to Allah's Apostle (sal-allahu- alleihi-wasallam ) contented with what will fill my stomach and I used to attend that which they used not to attend and I used to memorize that which they used not to memorize.

[Sahih Bukhari : Volume 1, Book 3, Number 119]

Narrated Abu Huraira (Radi Allah Anhu): I said to Allah's Apostle (sal-allahu- alleihi-wasallam ) "I hear many narrations (Hadiths) from you but I forget them." Allah's Apostle (sal-allahu- alleihi-wasallam ) said, "Spread your Rida' (garment)." I did accordingly and then He moved his hands as if filling them with something (and emptied them in my Rida') and then said, "Take and wrap this sheet over your body." I did it and after that I never forgot any thing.

[Sahih Bukhari : Volume 1, Book 3, Number 121]

Narrated Abu Huraira (Radi Allah Anhu): I have memorized two kinds of knowledge from Allah's Apostle (sal-allahu- alleihi-wasallam ). I have propagated one of them to you and if I propagated the second, then my pharynx (throat) would be cut (i.e. killed).

Thanks brother. All these things are narrated by Hazarat Abu huraira himself. Are there any other Sahaba who ethunticated any of these stories. Can you please kindly tell me a little about Hazarat Abu Huirara life, did he lived all of his life with our prophet, was he his friends ect.

‘Aqil’s freedman Ab Murra related that Ab Hurayra lived in a house neighboring his mother’s house and that he would stand at her door and say: “Peace be upon you, dear mother! and the mercy and blessings of Allh” whereupon she would answer: “And upon you, my dear son!” Then Ab Hurayra would say: “May Allh have mercy on you just as you raised me when I was little!” And his mother would reply: “May Allh have mercy on you just as you treated me well in maturity!” [ Narrated by al-Bukhari in al-Adab al-Mufrad]

At the burial of Ab Hurayra Ibn ‘Umar said: “He preserved the h.adth of the Prophet for the Muslims” and “O Ab Hurayra! You were the most assiduous among us in accompanying the Messenger of Allh , and the most knowledgeable of us all in his hadth.” [Tirmizi]

Zayd ibn Thbit said: “While I, Ab Hurayra, and a third man were in the mosque one day, supplicating Allh Most High and remembering our Lord, the Prophet came out to us and sat with us. When he sat we became silent. He said: ‘Continue what you were doing.’ So I supplicated, then my friend, before Ab Hurayra, while the Prophet said a mn to our supplication. Then Ab Hurayra supplicated saying: ‘O Allh! I ask you all that my two friends asked of you and I ask you for knowledge that shall not be forgotten.’ The Messenger of Allh said mn. We said: ‘Messenger of Allh! We, too, ask for knowledge that shall not be forgotten.’ He said: ‘The boy from Daws asked for it before you!’ [Narrated by al-Tabarani in al-Awsat]

Ab Hurayra is ‘Abd al-Rah.mn ibn S.akhr al-Daws , formerly named ‘Abd al-Shams then renamed ‘Abd al-Rah.mn by the Prophet and nicknamed by him Ab Hirr.

He is extremely meticulous and reliable in his narrations, which are all faultless in their least detail as stated by al-Dhahab, although Ab Hurayra said he used to be forgetful before the Prophet’s dua. The Tbi` ‘Umara ibn ‘Amr also witnessed that Ab Hurayra had the best memory of the Companions that surrounded him, as cited further below. Further, Ab Hurayra was careful to differentiate between the Prophet’s words and his own, pointing out the latter with the words hdh min ks – “This is from my own bag.” [Narrated from Dhakwan and ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Nu‘m by Ahmad with two sound chains]

He was persistent and assiduous in pursuit of the h.adth from the Mouth of Felicity. This is shown by the following narrations: - Ubayy ibn Ka‘b: “Ab Hurayra was bold with the Prophet. He would ask him about things we dared not ask about.” [Narrated by ‘Abd Allah ibn Ah.mad ibn H.anbal in Zawa’id al-Musnad (5:139) with a sound chain as indicated by al-Haythami in Majma‘ al-Zawa’id. Abu Nu‘aym in Dala’il al-Nubuwwa, Ibn ‘Asakir in Tarikh Dimashq (29:194), and al-Dhahabi in the Siyar (4:204)]

There are many more such proofs but I will now talk something of your interest Molson regarding His narrations:-

Ab Hurayra said: “Woe to the Arabs for a disaster that is fast approaching! The rule of young boys: if you obey them they shall enter you into the Fire, and if you disobey them they shall strike your necks with the sword.” [Narrated by Ibn Abi Shayba]

Another version also from him states: “Woe to the Arabs for a disaster that is fast approaching at the turn of the year 60 (A.H)! The public trust will become spoils of war, alms giving will be considered a fine, people will only bear witness for their friends, and lusts will govern.” [Narrated from Abu Hurayra by Ma‘mar ibn Rashid in his Jami‘ (Mus.annaf 11:373), al-H.akim (4:530), and Nu‘aym ibn H.ammad in al-Fitan (2:703 #1981)]

Abd Allh ibn ‘Amr ibn al-`s. stood weeping before the Ka‘ba which had been destroyed and burnt by the army of H.usayn ibn Numayr al-Sakn (Yazid's general) in the year 63 and said: “People! By Allh, if Ab Hurayra had informed you that you would be fighting the grandson of your Prophet and burn the House of your Lord, you would have said there is no worse liar than Ab Hurayra! And now you know, therefore, expect Divine revenge.” [Narrated from ‘Ubayd Allah ibn Sa‘id by Ibn ‘Asakir in Tarikh Dimashq (13:206) and cited by al-Dhahabi in the chapter on ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Amr in the Siyar (4:266)]

In year 60 A.H Yazid came into power. Under the rule of Yazid ibn Mu‘awiya three scandals took place: al-Husayn ibn ‘Ali was killed; Madina was ransacked for three days during which the Companions were massacred, after which no survivor of the battle of Badr was left on earth; and a thousand unmarried women gave birth to fatherless children; finally, the Ka‘ba was destroyed and burnt, at which time Yazid died.
