How did Supreme Court of Pakistan ever become part of the pr
Gen. Musharraf has been called upon to appear in front of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. A certain group of Pakistani print media- for their own ugly history with, back then, President Musharraf- has been very aggressive in their anti-Musharraf campaign.
In all earnest I, for one, am truly disgusted and sick to my stomach over this media frenzy and the language being used to ridicule an honorable man who also happens to be the former President of Pakistan and an ex Army Chief. A man who has given Pakistan more than any other leader in the history of Pakistan (of course after Qaid-e-Azam).
Pakistani Govt. needs to control- what appears to be- Jang group Geo Tvs Gestapo like schemes to subvert the great services of former President Musharraf to Pakistan and to its people and implement a strict and strong code of ethics for media as soon as possible otherwise they can count themselves in for a big surprise as well in the future.
Or as the famous story goes:
They came and killed my first neighbour. I kept quiet because it did not concern me. Then they came again and killed my second neighbour. I still kept to my own business and did not bother to help my neighbour because it did not concern me again. So they kept coming and killed all my neighbour one by one and I never spoke a word or helped anyone. I just let them all die their own deaths.
But then one day they came to kill me. I looked around to see if someone can help me but there was no one left to stand besides me now.
Moral of the story: Govt. of Pakistan should control Pakistan Medias Frankensteins before they get out of control and come for you. Then it might already be too late.
Here are two news quotes from different online web sources which seems to be sufficient enough to depict the grave error at the apex of our judiciary system:
Former President has not been summoned, neither asked to appear before the court in person. The court has just asked him to present his point of view in a case related to imposition of emergency and appointment of judges, senior lawyer Khalid Ranjha told media.
And Now here is another strong argument from Sher Afgan Niazi that just shows how comical pain Pakistani judiciary has really become:
Former federal minister Sher Afgan Niazi criticised the SC notice served on Pervez Musharraf, and said it was based on bias and vendetta. Afgan said the notice was aimed at ridiculing Musharraf whose actions of November 2007 were validated by the SC the chief justice was also part of the bench in 2000 which gave Musharraf the power to rule
