How did Supreme Court of Pakistan ever become part of the pr

Gen. Musharraf has been called upon to appear in front of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. A certain group of Pakistani print media- for their own ugly history with, back then, President Musharraf- has been very aggressive in their anti-Musharraf campaign.

In all earnest I, for one, am truly disgusted and sick to my stomach over this media frenzy and the language being used to ridicule an honorable man who also happens to be the former President of Pakistan and an ex Army Chief. A man who has given Pakistan more than any other leader in the history of Pakistan (of course after Qaid-e-Azam).

Pakistani Govt. needs to control- what appears to be- Jang group Geo Tvs Gestapo like schemes to subvert the great services of former President Musharraf to Pakistan and to its people and implement a strict and strong code of ethics for media as soon as possible otherwise they can count themselves in for a big surprise as well in the future.

Or as the famous story goes:

They came and killed my first neighbour. I kept quiet because it did not concern me. Then they came again and killed my second neighbour. I still kept to my own business and did not bother to help my neighbour because it did not concern me again. So they kept coming and killed all my neighbour one by one and I never spoke a word or helped anyone. I just let them all die their own deaths.

But then one day they came to kill me. I looked around to see if someone can help me but there was no one left to stand besides me now.

Moral of the story: Govt. of Pakistan should control Pakistan Medias Frankensteins before they get out of control and come for you. Then it might already be too late.

Here are two news quotes from different online web sources which seems to be sufficient enough to depict the grave error at the apex of our judiciary system:

Former President has not been summoned, neither asked to appear before the court in person. The court has just asked him to present his point of view in a case related to imposition of emergency and appointment of judges, senior lawyer Khalid Ranjha told media.

And Now here is another strong argument from Sher Afgan Niazi that just shows how comical pain Pakistani judiciary has really become:

Former federal minister Sher Afgan Niazi criticised the SC notice served on Pervez Musharraf, and said it was based on bias and vendetta. Afgan said the notice was aimed at ridiculing Musharraf whose actions of November 2007 were validated by the SC the chief justice was also part of the bench in 2000 which gave Musharraf the power to rule

KHODA PAHAR NIKLA CUWAH

ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court Friday declared the November 3 measures adopted by former President Pervez Musharraf as extra-judicial, illegal and unconstitutional.

A 14-member larger bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammed Chaudhry heard the constitutional petitions regarding PCO judges, appointments of judges of higher judiciary and November 3, 2007 steps.

The verdict said that sacking of the judges was illegal and unconstitutional. Article 279 of the Constitution was violated on November 3, 2007, it said.

The Supreme Court termed the steps taken on November 3, 2007 as null and void.

The apex court completed the hearing of the constitutional petitions regarding November 3 measures and the appointments of judges of higher judiciary on Friday; the verdict was held back to be announced at 3pm after Friday prayers.

On the occasion, the courtroom was overcrowded to hear the historic verdict. The national and foreign media personnel are turned up to the SC premises to cover the incident. A large of number of lawyers is present at Courtroom 1.

The lawyers waited for the verdict with sweets arranged in advance to celebrate it.

The larger bench took at least four hours to write down the draft of the verdict.

I do not know , why do they need to make such a big drama ,Musharraf said long ago that nov.3 act of him was not in constitution.

Wastage of time & creating hype BY CJP supreme court

Musharraf himself admitted in an interview with a foreign news channel that he had done nothing unconstitutional except the imposition of emergency, Khan said.
He further submitted that Musharraf used eight to nine instruments to become President for another five-year term and purged the apex judiciary of independent-minded judges. These instruments included imposition of emergency, promulgation of PCO and making amendments of his choice in the Constitution to secure his purpose. All these actions must be declared void and unconstitutional

From day one, I had no doubt that Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry was no hero. Only the images of his harassment by the police under Musharrafs orders turned this close friend of a dictator into a champion of democracy. This is Pakistan, where crooks are perfectly matched with a fake democracy designed to fool the masses and deliver nothing except crises and destruction.
The man was hand in glove with Musharraf. After his dismissal, his reinstatement became a personal crusade camouflaged as a battle for independent juduciary. As a proof that this was a battle devoid of any higher principle, Mr. Iftikhar Chaudhry did not hesitate for a second in mortgaging his cause to the politicians. He let Aitzaz Ahsan use him to help Benazir Bhutto get a better deal from Musharraf. He then let both Zardari and Nawaz use him to win elections. And then he allowed Nawaz Sharif to use him to get back at Zardari.
Now that all the corrupt players of Pakistans dirty politics have decided to end this issue through some kind of a secret arrangement, the Pakistani people and the media is beginning to smell rat.
To hide this rat, Iftikhar Chaudhry, Nawaz and Zardari are planning to raise a nonissue that they hope will distract the Pakistanis from discovering the truth. They are planning to go after Pervez Musharraf. If they do this, theyll get to hide the truth about why, for example, the newly reinstated chief judge wont go after President Zardaris NRO.
Im writing someting about this shortly, backed by some startling information. Ali Khan, a Pakistani blogger based in the U.S. who edits PakistanFirst.com has also reported receiving information about moves in this direction. His information sources are often stellar.
If they indeed go after him, Mr. Musharraf has only himself to blame. He is the one who let Mr. Sharif leave the country back in 2000 despite serious allegations against the former premier. Hes the one who listened to the Americans and agreed to the NRO, the most shameful piece of legislation even by the standards of Pakistans fake democracy. And finally he is the one who let all his enemies gang up on him while he enjoyed the good life with his incompetent political allies

Then, your beloved Dictator should come and face the court for his action of supra constitution. As I gather, you won't mind hanging the sucker for making the mockery out of our laws and constitution ?
