I think he as the one who created the indemnity bond clause which made the courts look bad. Also the deal between army and sharifs almost got cancelled as a result. Now it seems establishment+judiciary have taken him down and signaled to IK govt who is boss.
Also one factor could be to balance the upcoming decision in musharafs case. The decision of that case will come in favor of musharraf.

There was lacuna in the rules and regulations which was pointed out by the court. That lacuna is now removed by the cabinet. End of the story.

No he can't represent himself as law minister: That's the duty of AG.
While he is member of cabinet, he cannot represent a client as well.
If you don't like that - bad luck but stop making gongloo comments.

OK, then why does he have to resign if AG can represent him?
and which client is he going to represent? he does not even have an active bar license

AG can represent only the Federal government --- and not the Army Chief (whose representation is called by the court). AG (or federal government) cannot represent Army chief in this case. Even when Army as an institution is called in the court - AG can't appear on its behalf. This representation is not about institution but about a person, in any case.
He resigned as he was the one who had initiated and proceeded the summary about extension and as a lawyer he is in the best position to represent the case of Army Chief.

I was reading on another thread that his bar license is suspended so he cannot represent anyone.
