Hi guys,

I was debating with this Indian guy Anoop on Express Tribune Blog, "I'm not ready to live in Imran's Pakitan."

This guy was going on and on about how "democratic" India is and how Pakistan is going down hill. I challenged him by telling him that according to UN Report Indian poverty level is higher than Pakistan. I did not attached the article which was published in telegraph. This guy in response applied every dirty trick available to distract from this FACT and instead rambled on how Pakistani are lagging so much behind and could never achieve India's "true democracy" and attached this UN report which was to prove me wrong that Indian poverty level is higher than Pakistan. It was 75 paged document so he didn't think I was going to read it but put it there because he wanted his reply to "appear" authentic. I however, read it. The document talked about the future growth which is being expected in 20 years. It did not refute my claim. So, in response, I revealed his "fake" argument and linked the factual report published in telegraph. I debunked his other laughable claims in this response but Express Tribune Blog wouldn't publish my response. I tried atleast four times and emailed them twice already. No response whatsoever.

What does that mean? Besides, it very actively publish blogs that are out to crush any sign of hope for a better Pakistan which begs the question, Is Express Tribune out to glorify India in the mind of Pakistanis?

I need to clarify something here because some people are trying to give my thread an angle. I do not hate Indians or India. I detest the hateful ideologies churned out by fanatic religious nut jobs on either side.

I am debating with this Indian guy Anoop who lives under this delusion that India is a true democracy. He adamantly maintains that "all is well" in their current system and is rather smug about it too. So, I wanted to direct his attention to the fact that 162 out of 522 member of parliament in India have criminal charges against them. That is a whopping 31%. Furthermore, almost 50% of these charges are serious offences such as rape and murder. You can judge their freedom of speech by the fact that in 2010 alone, 12 whistle blowers belonging to Right To Information (RTI) organization have been murdered.

http://www.groundreport.com/Politics/Cleanup-Indian-Politics-of-Criminal-MPs/2942280

Even after economical growth of India, it is only the Ambanis of India who are building 27 storey tower costing 670 million pound. The people of India remain poorer than people of Pakistan ( a country, Anoop believes is a failed state).

Furthermore, as for the status of minorities, the picture is not so rosy in that department either. We all know about the Hindu-Muslim riots in India. The fact that there is half a million Indian soldiers deployed in Kashmir. The mass unmarked graves in Kashmir. Christians also suffer at the hands of Hindu extremists but no, CNN, BBC and Sky TV will not talk about that. Links to torching and raping of Christians in India are give below.

http://www.hindu.com/2008/09/30/stories/2008093058040100.htm

So, all I wanted to do was show him that just claiming something is not going to cut it. The FACTS point to something else. Not only that but I wanted Pakistanis to know the actual scenario in India as well.

Recently, I see this trend in Pakistan where some people are questioning the wisdom of Pakistan's creation. This is a carefully crafted propaganda. They incessantly talk about how Pakistan is declining and how mullahs are about to hijack Pakistan. They talk about the problems and not the solutions and create hopelessness among Pakistanis. On the other hand, they sing praises of India's wonderful democracy, economical growth, freedom of speech and religious tolerance. They create this perfect picture of India based on myths and block everything that point against it. So, that Pakistanis can come to the conclusion that separating from India was really a mistake.

So, my question again

Is Express Tribune out to glorify India? If the answer is no, then why does it keep blocking my comments that expose Indian corruption?

I want to reiterate that I don't wish India any ill. I take no pleasure in their miseries caused by their corrupt system. I hope they fix their system. As for Pakistan, we also need to think and act constructively. We need to work towards solving our problems by fixing corruption in our country. Both Pakistan and India can work with each other for a better future WHILE respecting each other's sovereignty.

Thanks!

Completely agree , I have been reading and commenting on ET for months but in last few weeks, their hatred for Islam, Pakistan and support for India and US is just extreme.

Better contact the editors on twitter, you will get a response. Kamran Shafi wrote an article on Imran Khan which was based on total misrepresentation of facts and quoting things in the wrong context. I wrote a long rebuttal which countered almost every point of his. My comment was not approved and sadly i did not save it with myself.
Though this does not mean they are anti-pakistan. This does mean they have little tolerance for any point of view that disagrees with theirs. They are the ones you call liberal fascists who are as dangerous as extremists. You can term them as apologists as well.

Moshfit,

I don't have a problem with them being liberal or atheist. It is their personal choice. I don't even have a problem with them publishing lies of other commentators. I am a believer of personal choice and freedom of speech for all school of thought. My beef with them is that why are they blocking replies that debunk and expose these lies???? It means that they want the people to be brainwashed into believing these lies.

Like I said before, I was debating with the Indian guy proving that it is only his delusion that India is a democracy. Also, I wanted to expose how he tried to divert the debate by his fake reference which only proved that his argument was all show and no substance. At that time I wasn't even commenting on the subject of that blog.

yaar there are literally 1000's of blogs, how many will you rebuttal to?

This is information age. Most of the are not really worth replying. In old days people 'used to pick up a pen and start writing.....' now people 'logon and start writing'.

The newer way is much fast and easy to type long letters.

When I see a blog crap I just ignore it

Gazoomartian,

I am of an opinion that when you ignore the crap, you only encourage the crap to flourish. I will not let this go that easy. I shall be heard.

Ok guys, after much emailing and twittering and complaining on other blogs, Express Tribune FINALLY published my response!!!!!! They removed some parts of it and ruin my sarcasm and irony so I am not entirely happy but well, they did publish most of it.

See Gazoomartian, persistence works!!!

I spoke too soon......As of Nov 28, they have blocked another comment of mine. The struggle to be heard continues......sighhhhhhhh

Your silliness and absence of knowledge does not mean anything. the blogs you refer to are an excellent means of understanding the two sides of the coin. Your history books are lies and this effects you, for it makes you silly willy.

Everyone should click the following link and give the article a bad rating: (source)

This is best thing that can be done! Current rating of the article is 2.37 out of 5.0 (for 319 people).

- If Express Tribune is paying him, complain to express tribune that the article is cheap in content. (The point is not to make express tribune ban the guy, but start considering him a burden)
- If Express Tribune is not paying him, first check the "express tribune blog terms and conditions" and complain only if he violates any of those terms.

This is the democratic way to deal with people full of garbage!

People who are incapable of coming up with an intelligent response based on reasoning, resort to verbal abuse and intimidation like you have done in your post. You randomly throw at me "silliness and absence of knowledge" without giving a "reason" as to HOW you came to this conclusion? Do you think you can discredit me by calling me names several times in a sentence? It is you and people like you who are insignificant.

My responses at Express Tribune were blocked and I had to almost wage an online war to be heard. If this is your idea of "...an excellent means of understanding the two sides of the coin." then you need to go back to school and learn a thing or two about FREEDOM OF SPEECH...until then keep your CRAP to yourself!!!!

We are genetic cousins and resemble in many habits and attitudes. But I am proud to observe that we, Pakitanis have slowly come out of arrogance and ignoance towards India despite having snubs from Indian media and government. Our willingness to normalize and think more realisically shows our inner strength and confidence.Indians are much ahead in education but we, with less educated polulation have developed to better human level only depending on our genetic and racial quality and in India, Eastern Punjab and Southern states except Marathas have developed at good pace too. Indians from Punjab, UP and Bihar plus Tamils, Keralites, people of Karnatka are rlatively better, social, humble in attitude towards Pakistanis. Gujratis, Bengalis and Marathas are hadliners by genes and anti-social towards us. Overall majority of Indians are not sworn anti-Pakistanis same like we are willing to accomodate. On the net, its hard to guess before hand who we are going to face. Indian democracy looks solid institutionally but it too has failed to deliver as ours has. Indian political culture too is dominated by crime syndicates, curruption, lies, oppotunism and greed. India's ratio of hard core criminals joining eletions is far higher, loot and scandals are rampant like we have here but with lot less ratio. India excels in rule of law. Their CBI is impartial, competent and result oriented, working hand in hand with higher courts. We Pakistanis have it just the opposite.

What are you babbling about? How did Zaid Hamid come in this discussion? What are you insinuating here? Stop muttering and say it out in open!!!!!

This is a thread about how Express Tribune is blocking my comments in my debate with a delusional Indian, Anoop. In the debate I am showing with proof that India's democracy is nothing but a SHAM. My comments that have links to the published Indians articles are being blocked by Express Tribune. My question is WHY?!?! So STICK to the issue on hand and don't try to insinuate that everybody who shows the REAL face of India's SHAM democracy and the corruption within India HAS to be some fanatic religious nut job!!!!!!!

Anoop has posted his comments in ET and went back to work so that his tax money could be spent to bring down poverty levels in future. You just finished reading 75 pages of a report and still debating about India's poverty.

Maybe, if you were well read and educated, you wouldn't have ended up so ignorant... As for Anoop, reiterating his delusional claims based on his active imagination and wishful thinking IS his job. I am just asking him to do a better job....that is, making comments based on facts and reality. (This advice is for you too.)

I did not quote Zaid Hamid anywhere in my post. I referenced Telegraph, Forbes, GroundReport , Thelka, Indian Expess and The Hindu. It doesn’t matter what the “little voices inside your head” say, these news outlets are NOT owned by Zaid Hamid.

By the way, these “little voices inside your head” which are responsible for your comments, make you as insane as Zaid Hamid. :)
