The picture does not match the caption for the following 2 reasons:
1) Its dated 2002, when the loadshedding problem was not at the current level.
2) It shows the whole globe dark (night), but actually earth has several time zones.
For example time difference between Karachi and US West Coast (Califonia) is 12 hours, (i.e.) Karachi mid-night is the mid-day in california.

There cannot be night in all the continents at the same time.
Please first do some research before posting such items.

The picture you posted was Global view of Earth at night, compiled from over "400" satellite images.
