Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, in a meeting discussing CPEC and the national economy at the Governor House in Lahore, stated the government was taking serious and honest measures to stabilize the national economy, which is strengthening, Samaa reported.
The prime minister said CPEC would lead to the elimination of extremism, poverty and unemployment from the region, adding that no country except China had ever invested such a large amount in Pakistan.
Nawaz Sharif said that the government attaches top priority to the solution of the problems being faced by the entrepreneurs and all possible steps will be taken to facilitate the business community.
Governor Punjab Rafique Rajwana was also present at the occasion. "The government will further facilitate business to create employment opportunities", he added.
He told the participants that China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was a huge project ushering in prosperity in the country.
The prime minister viewed that not only the people of Pakistan but the whole region would get benefit from the CPEC projects what he said was monitoring personally. He said out of $46 billion being invested by China, $35billion would be spent only on power projects which after completion would both help overcome load-shedding and provide low-priced electricity.
He said work on various development projects was going on with swift pace under CPEC in Balochistan, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab.
Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif briefed the prime minister on the measures taken by Punjab government towards implementation of the energy projects on fast-track and strategy adopted in this regard. As part of CPEC, he said, Gwadar seaport and airport are also being developed in Balochistan which all harbinger a very bright future of Pakistan.
The Sharif family's spokesperson said that the prime minister's kin do not own and run any businesses in India.
Earlier this year, Prime Minister's son Hussain Nawaz also denied any links to business partnerships in India.
