see your taking it wrong again...If the majority of pakistani's dont participate in certain parts of the western culture (drinking, clubbing, strip clubbing, adult movie stores etc), which happens to be a big part of their economy and are therefore deprived of economic activity and hence are second BEST in terms of statistical economics because in most cases their is a glass ceiling to their rise within organizations then...where does religion come into this ?
I am giving you a reason as to why they can't move up the corporate ladder, why they cant penetrate into larger social networks ...because to network and move up ..you have to build relationships and indulge in activities liked by the host, and in some cases the westerners are accomodating but not for the most part..and their justified because that is their way of life. This is my point of view and i have some support ...where have i discussed the burqa Ban or the introduction of sharia law in Kansas or anything that points it to being religious ?
Religion is a reality and billions of people behave according to tenets and those tenets have economic effects - thats all i stated
Making religion a conversational pariah and totally disregarding it is devoid of intellect, when it is a crucial factor in economics and growth. I'm just surprised at the quick apprehension and knee-jerk reaction to any mention of faith - its almost allergic.
But sticking to the topic ...you read that article about Pakistanis being in more well to do positions of the more ethically acceptable positions of doctors, economists (bigsmile), financial analysts and accountants. ?
