China's Pursuit of Semiconductor Independence

The only thing stopping China to be a Super Power on equal terms with USA is Semiconductor independence.

If and how this happens for China will change the world, consumer, IP, patents, industries globally.

This is the reason the China - US trade war started no other reason.

One reason.. Semiconductor.... but in my sense... Army power is more important to defeat US influence in the world along with economy...Once China will confront US via Army like Putin did in Syria...US will run away from Asia..ME.ane Africa... Don't forget One Belt One Road.When US ..West bizi and spent Trillions on Wars and these anylists sitting in cool and warm homes..China worked on One Belt One Road projects..On semiconductor..I am sure China already done work on it..

China is still behind America in semiconductor technology but it will catch up or even surpass America with next ten years.China is poring billions of dollars into semiconductor chip manufacturing.Twenty years ago China was way behind other advanced countries but China is a leader in high speed trains,biotechnology,quantum communication,solar and wind energy ,electric vehicles and AI.China also makes the most powerful computers.If China can produce advanced chips and passenger aircraft then it will can show two fingers to America .

Army power is more important to defeat US influence in the world along with economy

that again depends on technology, and today's tech depends on semi-conductors.

Without that u don't have computers, mobiles, anything electronic more complex than a washing machine or a microwave.

It woudn't be that easy in the late 90's Chinese Premier's son was leading the effort with billions spent but they cudn't make any breakthrough.

Additionally AI requires creating Nvidia like graphic processors which even Intel can't make after spending billions upon billions with unrestricted access to US talent pool and zero red tape.

Taiwan and S Korea are making semiconductor chips.China has more STEM graduates than any other country so it is only a matter of time.It will take time but China will do it.The Americans were the first to test the atom bomb.The Americans were so arrogant that they started blackmailing USSR.Americans were convinced it will take Russians decades to make the bomb.Well it took Russia only a few years to test the bomb.In know semiconductor technology and nuclear technology is different but both need highly skilled engineers and scientists.China has time on its side.It will catch up.In space technology China has made great progress.China landed a vehicle on the far side of the moon .No one else has managed it yet which shows China has technical manpower.
