Lots of research is going in cancer diagnosed by dogs. There is a similar resaerch done in UK for Malignant Melanoma- a skin cancer. Dog can smell a particular smell emitted by these cancer cells at very early stage. At this stage no avaiable scan can pick up cancer in the body.
