Dear sdmuashr, these like articles are written by confused people who claim to be ulema not ulema. There are three types of people who claim to be ulema a)proper ulema b)ulema soo and c)confused people who claim to be ulema.
Proper Ulema are only those who take islam as deen not mazhab. DEEN=NIZAAME HUKOOMAT for mankind. For these people islam is all systems in one eg ruling system, economic system etc.
Ulemaai soo or mullas take islam as a mazhab not as a deen. To these people islam=aqeedah=make bleiefs dogmas and rituals. This islam has nothing to do with politics rather it is just a spiritual thing. This is why these people complement ruling elite because they do not interfere in state busness and ruler do not interfere in there religious affairs.
Confused people who claim to be ulema are those who take islam as a deeno mazhab. These people claim islam is a nizaam but also a creed and ritualism. This idea arose after fall of absolute monarchy after khilaafah was brought to an end. These people therefore become imaams in masaajid as well as where they can become political leaders as well.
Coming to this article it is written by such a mulla. If you read the article carefully and critically you will see that this person accepts islam as a rule of law but then he goes on about LAGHVIYAAT and his definition is such that goes directly against what the quran defines as LAHV, which is from root LAAM, HAA and WOW. It means looking for short or quick result or advantage. It is more at being greedy and selfish or self centred.
The quran obviously does not want people to be isolated from the world and mankind because it order us to learn it and then teach others and we cannot do that if we do not get out and about and meet people and try to have good brotherly relationships. This obviously means not being greedy or self rather be open to concerns for others ie have sense of doing good for others. This help is only possible if we have access to land and resources so that we could help people with things they need to live their lives.
Likewise word LA'B is from root LAAM, AIN and BAA. It means liquid that falls out of mouth after seeing something tasty for example ie saliva or aimless or purpose effort or action. The quran wants us not to waste our time in doing things that lead nowhere. The reason the quran uses this world is because people invented religions for getting close to Allah but actually these things take them away from Allah. That is because one only get approval of Allah by achieving goals set by Allah and not by setting goals for oneself assuming one is pleasing Allah.
The goals the quran set for muslims are very clear eg knowledge, freedom, justice, fairness, compassion, brotherhood, progress and prosperity for mankind. Allah wants us to fight against ignorance, oppression, suppression, injustice, unfairness, cruelty, animosity, backwardness and poverty etc. The quran sets these goals so that peace=islam between mankind in the land becomes established. So that people become consistent with Allah and humanity.
Now looking at all the articles posted on this forum we only see mullas telling us about islam as if it is a personal belief system nothing to do with mankind at large. This gives these mullas real intention away. They try to frighten people by Allah where as Allah is not a bein g to be frightened of but a compassionate being. His guidance is not about good deeds in forms of rituals and sinful deeds in form of vice and reward or punishment in hereafter but what is law and why there is a law and what happens to mankind as a whole when law is breached ie consequences in this life and in next life. This is why the quran informs us as to how Allah brought about and setup this universe and things therein as processes and functions that are governed by set laws. Such basic and fundamental information is missing in articles by these people. It is either because they never think so they do not know or they know these things and deliberately hide them because if people started to understand the quran properly then our mullas will become redundant ie out of job, power and wealth.
This however does not mean that there is nothing useful in these articles, there always is but that is buried so that it stays hidden ie important points are attenuated and less important bits are emphasized that serve them better.
It will therefore be good idea that people who post such articles themselves emphasize the points they think are important. This way we may be able to discuss things in a bit more detail. Because we are all here to learn of each other so that one day we all know what the truth is and get rid of sectarianism and unite.
The idea is to put our critical abilities to use and improve it so that we gain power to think sensibly and stop sticking to our make beliefs that are root cause of sectarianism amongst ourselves. Although I would prefer people putting up quranic verses and then translating and interpreting them as they understand them. This will help us properly understand the quran and once that happens we will become aware of what is right translation or interpretation and why. Next time we read anyone's article we will know it is good or bad.
