ARY is a partisan channel, but Geo is far worse....with their shameless brown nosing of the govt. A large chunk of Geo is on govt payroll. Sethi, Irfan Siddiqi, AtaulHaq Qasmi, Absar Alam...and of course, Saleh Zafir

Did you see the recent news from Geo!! full of lies, now someone just have to take them to the court and they would be awarded fines against them by law courts.
ARY didn't wanted to pay to the Geo management, they purposefully put the British Company operating in the UK for liquidation. They didn't lose the licence, the licence was withdrawn because the company was declared bankrupt. They must have got the legal council how to deal with the issue after losing the case and followed the legal advice to close the earlier company. Nothing stops them to operate the channels through another company. The beauty of it is that each company when formed is a legal entity on its own.
The original company dissolved/stricken off, its legal identity is finished. Geo cannot demand the damages awarded against the old company.
Win win for ARY. I knew from the start they must have planned it this way.
Were you seriously thinking that the fine of 250,000, which is equal to roughly 3 Crores a big deal for ARY? The group has sales over a $1 billion.

It is what you can prove in court in Law, if you are slandering without any proof and can't prove it in the court of law then you have to pay fine.
Geo can be far worse than ARY but ARY is history now in UK.

Not denying that at all. No media house should state something that they have not investigated themselves....But geo's problem is an entirely different one. They are the ones who politicized the entire rivalry. Oh well.

I am not defending Geo neither I am supporting ARY. Even at one time, I love watching ARY channel. In Pakistan scaremongering and allegation against each other is quite a common practice, but in west, it is a big no no.
