Wow, ISPR and the Army become so credible....Why would Army got involved in the first place ? Eevn if the NS asked them to get involved ? The bottom line is , these are all political manuaverings from all sides and the Army is not apolitical as someone tried to mentioned. As far as IK and TUQ are concerned, they should have also not jump the gun and hop on to the Army bandwagon, IK was in such a hurry that he forgot to fasten his car seat belt. اسلام آباد: وفاقی وزیر داخلہ چوہدری نثار نے کہا ہے کہ پاک فوج کے ترجمان کی جانب سے بیان حکومت کی مشاورت سے جاری کیا گیا جس سے حکومت کے نکتہ نظر کی عکاسی ہوئی جبکہ ہم نے فوج کو سہولت کار کا کردار ادا کرنے کا کہا لیکن نہ جانے کیوں فوج کو بدنام کیا جارہاہے ہم فوج کا تحفظ کررہے ہیں اور اسے سیاسی گند میں ڈالنا نہیں چاہتے۔
اسلام آباد میں پریس کانفرنس کرتے ہوئے چوہدری نثار علی نے کہا کہ ہمیں عوام کی مشکلات کا مکمل احساس ہے لیکن ان لوگوں کو اس بات کا احساس نہیں، دن میں کئی کئی مرتبہ تقاریر کی جاتی ہیں، 8 سے 10 ہزار لوگوں کے لیڈروں نے ملک وقوم کو ایک بیماری میں مبتلا کردیا ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ گزشتہ روز فوج اور حکومت کی میٹنگ ہوئی جس میں ایک فیصلہ کیا گیا جس سے متعلق حکومت نے آگاہ بھی کردیا تھا لیکن اس کے باوجو ایک حشر برپا کردیا گیا اور اس کے طرح طرح کے معنی نکالے گئے اور اسے غیر آئینی و غیر قانونی لبادہ اوڑھایا گیا جبکہ اس کی صفائی وزیراعظم نے بھی دی۔
چوہدری نثار نے کہا کہ اس معاملے پر جان بوجھ کر ان لوگوں کی جانب سے غلط فہمی پیدا کی گئی ہے جو فوج کو سیاسی مقاصد کیلئے استعمال کرنا چاہتے ہیں، جو لوگ لاکھوں عوام کو اکٹھا تو نہ کرسکے لیکن اس کے لوازمات لوٹنا چاہتے ہیں،8 سے 10 ہزار لوگوں کو اکٹھا کرکے جمہوریت کا غلط فائدہ اٹھانے کی کوشش کی جارہی ہے اور مرضی کے فیصلے نہ کرنے کی صورت میں نظام لپیٹنے کی باتیں کی جارہی ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ آج جو روایت ڈالی جارہی ہے کہ بغیر تصدیق کے کسی پر الزام لگایا جائے اور اسے گھر جانے کا کہا جائے یہ کون سی منطق ہے، اگر اسے قبول کرلیا گیا تو پھر یہ روایت پڑ جائے گی، آج 10 ہزار لوگ اکٹھے ہیں تو کل اور لوگ آکر سب کو فارغ کردیں گے جبکہ لشکر کشی کی روایت آج سے صدیوں سال پہلے تھی ۔
وفاقی وزیر داخلہ کا کہنا تھا کہ عمران خان اور طاہرالقادری بتائیں کہ کیا ضمانت ہے کل ان سے زیادہ بڑا لشکر نہیں آئے گا اگر ہم نے ان کےمطالبات مان لیے تو پھر لشکر آیا کریں گے لیکن آئین قانون ہمیں یہ اختیار نہیں دیتا کہ ایک دو شخص کی مرضی سے فیصلے کیے جائیں یہ جنگل کا قانون ہے اسے کسی طور پر نافذ نہیں کیا جائے گا۔ چوہدری نثار نے کہا کہ پاک فوج کے ترجمان کی جانب سے جو بیان جاری کیا گیا ہے وہ باقاعدہ حکومت کی مشاورت سے جاری ہوا جس سے حکومت کے نکتہ نظر کی عکاسی ہوئی، حکومت نے کسی کو ضامن اور ثالث نہیں بنایا فوج کو صرف سہولت کار کا کردار ادا کرنے کیلئے کہا گیا لیکن نہ جانے کیوں فوج کو بدنام کیا جارہا ہےجبکہ آئی ایس پی آر نے بھی اپنے بیان میں سہولت کار کا لفظ استعمال کیاجو آئینی ہے تاہم ضامن اور ثالث غیر آئینی وغیر قانونی لفظ ہیں۔
چوہدری نثار علی نے کہا کہ ہم فوج کا تحفظ کررہے ہیں اسے سیاسی گند میں ڈالنا نہیں چاہتے،پاکستان کی افواج مکمل غیر سیاسی ہیں، فوج آرٹیکل 245 کےتحت ریڈ زون میں موجود ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ عمران خان اور طاہرالقادری کو قائل کرنے کی پوری کوشش کی، عدالتی کمیشن،اپوزیشن جماعتوں کا جرگہ،وکلا گروپ،پارلیمانی کمیٹی اور سول سوسائٹی کی کمیٹی بنانے کی بھی پیش کش کی گئی لیکن یہ لوگ نہیں مانے اورفوج پر اعتماد کا اظہار کیا جس کےبعد حکومت نے آئین اور قانون کے دائرے میں فوج کو سہولت کار کا کردار ادا کرنے کو کہا لیکن اسے کئی اطراف سے غلط انداز میں پیش کیا گیا جبکہ مذاکرات دونوں جماعتوں کی کمیٹیوں سے ہی ہونا تھے جو آج بھی جاری ہیں۔ ان کا کہنا تھا کہ عمران خان کے پانچ نکات مکمل طور پر مان لیے ہیں جبکہ وزیراعظم کے استعفے کو کمیشن کی تحقیقات سے منسوب کرنے کی پیشکش بھی کی گئی کہ اگر دھاندلی ثابت ہوئی تو وزیراعظم ہی نہیں بلکہ اس حکومت اور اسمبلی کا کوئی بھی جواز نہیں بنتا۔
وزیرداخلہ کا کہنا تھا کہ یہ کون سا اصول ہے کہ واقعہ لاہور میں ہو اور وزیراعظم ،وزیراعلیٰ اور وزرا سمیت 21 افراد کے خلاف مقدمہ درج کیا جائے، لیکن حکومت کے صبر کا پیمانہ ہے کہ وزیراعظم سے لے کر تمام افراد کے خلاف مقدمہ درج ہوچکا ہے جبکہ مقدمہ پولیس نے درج کیا جس میں خدشات کو دور کیا جاسکتا ہے، مگر ہر چیز میں تلوار نکال لی جاتی ہے، ہم جانتے ہیں کہ ان لوگوں کے پیچھے عوام کی کتنی طاقت ہے اگر ان کے پیچھے لاکھوں کا سمندر ہوتا تو حکومت خوفزدہ ہوتی لیکن چار چار سو لوگوں کےساتھ تقریر کرنےوالے قوم پر رحم کریں۔ چوہدری نثار نے تنبیہہ کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ کچھ ریڈ لائنز موجود ہیں جنہیں کراس کیا گیا تو سکیورٹی فورسز اور فوج مکمل دفاع کی پوزیشن میں ہیں۔
چوہدری نثار نے کہا کہ دوسری طرف سے صرف مقصد یہی ہے کہ چند لاشیں گرائی جائیں مگر ہم نے صبر کا مظاہرہ کیا کیونکہ ہم جان ومال کا تحفظ چاہتے ہیں،ہم نے تمام چیزوں کو ایک طرف رکھ کرکوشش کی کہ کسی قسم کا نقصان نہ ہو لیکن اب واضح کرتے ہیں کہ اگر کوئی نقصان ہوا تو اس کی ذمہ داری یلغار کرنے والوں پر ہوگی اس لیے فوج سمیت سکیورٹی اداروں کو امتحان میں نہ ڈالا جائے اگر یہ لوگ فوج کے ہمدرد ہیں تو ان کو اپنے مقابلے میں کھڑا نہ کریں بلکہ وہاں جانے دیں جہاں ان کی ضرورت ہے، ضد بازی سے ملک کا بیڑہ غرق کردیا گیا ہے لیکن ہم پھر بھی صبر کی آخری حد تک جائیں گے اور اس مسئلے کو منطقی انجام تک پہنچائیں گے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ اگر ہم لاشیں گرانا چاہتے تو آج دھرنے والے یہاں موجود نہ ہوتے اور وزیراعظم سمیت وزرا پر مقدمہ بھی درج نہ ہوتا لیکن میڈیا اور ان لوگوں کو ضرور سوچنا چاہئے کہ آج 8 سے 10 ہزار لوگوں کی وجہ سے دنیا بھر میں ایک ایٹمی طاقت کی جگ ہنسائی ہورہی ہے۔

ISLAMABAD: The chief military spokesperson said on Friday that the government had asked Chief of the Army Staff General Raheel Sharif to ‘facilitate’ the resolution of the political imbroglio. Soon after, the interior minister explained how the government had requested a ‘facilitative role’ for the army chief, while ruling out any ‘mediatory’ or ‘guarantor’ role in the impasse, as was earlier claimed by Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leader Dr Tahirul Qadri.
“[The] COAS was asked by the govt to play a ‘facilitative’ role for [the] resolution of [the] current impasse, in yesterday’s meeting, at #PM House” Maj-Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa, the director general of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said in a tweet on the micro-blogging website Twitter.
Soon after the military spokesperson’s statement, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan told a news conference that the army chief acted at the government’s behest to end the political crisis created by the prolonged protest sit-ins of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and PAT. He was referring to Thursday night’s meetings of the army chief with Dr Tahirul Qadri and Imran Khan.
The interactions came hours after Chaudhry Nisar said in a statement that the government had asked the army chief to play his role to end the crisis. The decision, according to the interior minister, was taken at a meeting between the army chief and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
“During yesterday’s meeting [at the Prime Minister House] it was decided that the army chief may interact with them [Qadri and Imran]. But his role will be that of a facilitator, not a mediator or guarantor as some people are trying to interpret it,” Nisar said at Friday’s news conference.
“The government has given the army permission for whatever facilitation it has been playing. It [the role] should not be treated more than this,” he added.
The interior minister claimed that the role given to the army was in accordance with the Constitution. However, he did not quote any constitutional provision to substantiate his claim. “There are many examples in the past when the army was asked to perform something that does not directly come under its domain,” he said.
Nisar claimed that the government had sought the army’s facilitation upon the suggestion of “some interlocutors, both political and non-political”. He didn’t name anyone, though.
The minister said he didn’t say that he had received any request directly from the leaders of the two protesting parties for meetings with the army chief. To substantiate his claim, he read out parts of a speech he made on the floor of the National Assembly earlier in the day where he said that the government had asked the army chief to play a facilitative role for ending the prevailing crisis.
The interior minister also claimed that the statement issued by the ISPR was sent him for clearance before it was released to the general public.
The government’s decision to seek out the role of the army came under scathing criticism from allied and opposition parties in parliament. Opposition leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah and Mehmood Khan Achakzai, whose Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party is a coalition partner of the PML-N government, hit out at the government in their fiery speeches.
In a brief speech on the floor of the house, Premier Nawaz said that the PAT and PTI leaderships had requested for meetings with army chief Gen Raheel Sharif. He told the lawmakers that the interior minister asked him that Imran and Qadri wanted to meet the army chief and he [Nawaz] immediately granted the request.
“Nisar got a call from Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri in my presence. He [Nisar] said they want to meet the army chief. I immediately said if they want to meet him, let them meet,” the premier said. He added that even if he had not asked it, the army would have played its role since the military was already deputed in the federal capital. “If the protesters tried to storm any government building, the army would have taken action,” he added.
Soon after the speeches of the premier and the interior minister, the PAT chief emerged from his shipping container to refute these claims.

Soon after, the interior minister explained how the government had requested a ‘facilitative role’ for the army chief, while ruling out any ‘mediatory’ or ‘guarantor’ role in the impasse, as was earlier claimed by Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leader Dr Tahirul Qadri.
“[The] COAS was asked by the govt to play a ‘facilitative’ role for [the] resolution of [the] current impasse, in yesterday’s meeting, at #PM House” Maj-Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa, the director general of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said in a tweet on the micro-blogging website Twitter.
Soon after the military spokesperson’s statement, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan told a news conference that the army chief acted at the government’s behest to end the political crisis created by the prolonged protest sit-ins of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and PAT. He was referring to Thursday night’s meetings of the army chief with Dr Tahirul Qadri and Imran Khan.
The interactions came hours after Chaudhry Nisar said in a statement that the government had asked the army chief to play his role to end the crisis. The decision, according to the interior minister, was taken at a meeting between the army chief and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
“During yesterday’s meeting [at the Prime Minister House] it was decided that the army chief may interact with them [Qadri and Imran]. But his role will be that of a facilitator, not a mediator or guarantor as some people are trying to interpret it,” Nisar said at Friday’s news conference.
“The government has given the army permission for whatever facilitation it has been playing. It [the role] should not be treated more than this,” he added.
The interior minister claimed that the role given to the army was in accordance with the Constitution. However, he did not quote any constitutional provision to substantiate his claim. “There are many examples in the past when the army was asked to perform something that does not directly come under its domain,” he said.
Nisar claimed that the government had sought the army’s facilitation upon the suggestion of “some interlocutors, both political and non-political”. He didn’t name anyone, though.
The minister said he didn’t say that he had received any request directly from the leaders of the two protesting parties for meetings with the army chief. To substantiate his claim, he read out parts of a speech he made on the floor of the National Assembly earlier in the day where he said that the government had asked the army chief to play a facilitative role for ending the prevailing crisis.
The interior minister also claimed that the statement issued by the ISPR was sent him for clearance before it was released to the general public.
The government’s decision to seek out the role of the army came under scathing criticism from allied and opposition parties in parliament. Opposition leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah and Mehmood Khan Achakzai, whose Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party is a coalition partner of the PML-N government, hit out at the government in their fiery speeches.
In a brief speech on the floor of the house, Premier Nawaz said that the PAT and PTI leaderships had requested for meetings with army chief Gen Raheel Sharif. He told the lawmakers that the interior minister asked him that Imran and Qadri wanted to meet the army chief and he [Nawaz] immediately granted the request.
“Nisar got a call from Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri in my presence. He [Nisar] said they want to meet the army chief. I immediately said if they want to meet him, let them meet,” the premier said. He added that even if he had not asked it, the army would have played its role since the military was already deputed in the federal capital. “If the protesters tried to storm any government building, the army would have taken action,” he added.
Soon after the speeches of the premier and the interior minister, the PAT chief emerged from his shipping container to refute these claims.
