Are political parties democratic in pakistan?

Everyday we listen our leaders viz. Zardari, Sharif's and other leader beat the drum that they want to make Pakistan a democratic country. But as we know that these leaders by themselves are not democratic.

- They don't hold elections within their respective parties.
- To whom they are accountable for making wrong decisions (as being leaders).
- They call them, "Awam ky Khadim" but they keep themselves at a distance in the name of
security.
- They do not listen what CEC of their respective says, but impose their personal decision
- Parties are lead by their own siblings and / or relatives.

My question is that why a very ordinary person cannot be a chairman of PPP, PMN-L, PML-Q. Why a chairman is selected from the family of chairman of the party?
Why Allah Ditta cannot be a chairman of the party who knows more about country, party, its affairs than Bilawal, Mons Elahi, Hamza Sharif..... etc. In fact, these families are civil dictators and ruining Pakistan every bit of second. What do you think?

Just Referring this video that she can't even correctly pronounce the name of her Family, Bhutoo but she talks about democracy......! This is very interesting!

Hopefully one day the people will understand better than to support these political leaders blindly. We as a nation become so emotional that we forgive any or all the mistakes that they may have. Here I am not referring to the illiterate masses. Even the educated people are guilty of the same. My own relatives even if they are shown the documents of corruption of their favourite politcal party would not accept the facts. In the mean time we can all make dua for the whole ummat of Rasoolullah Syedina Hazrat Muhammad SAW.

Lets assume PPP and PML (N etc) have their support from rural sindh and Punjab....then what is stopping educated (so-called) class of karachi from questioning of murderous MQM leaders....You know why because (they might pretend) are just like everyone else in Pakistan pretending that their favorite leader does nothing wrong.

Thats why author of thread did not mention MQM...under the assumption that people of karachi have made the right decision and rest of Pakistan is Jahil and always vote of the corrupt PPP and PML..tell me if I am wrong

My apology for not mentioning MQM, ANP and any other party. I must clarify that by all parties, I mean was all parties regardless of their origin. You're absolutely right, and I cannot exclude MQM especially Altaf for being not included in the list of civil dictators. For me, honestly speaking he's not a leader but a treater. If he really a leader and claims to be loved by poor people he must come back Pakistan and face the reality.

Not at all, you're not wrong. That's why our leaders and feudal do not want masses to get education and know their real face. You're absolutely right that most of the Pakistani people are illiterate that's why these stupid leaders exploit their innocence and get into Power. I tell you very interesting story of how innocent people of Pakistan vote.

In a village near Gujrat, one day the most noble person who is well respected person in the village called every men and women for a meeting in the evening. When all people came he asked them to vote to Benazir. You know the most interesting part that, someone during the election conveyancing place a poster of Benazir in the front door of his Hawailey. He told every member of his village that, "Dhi chal ky ghar aie hai, es nou hi tussi vote pana hai" (baiti has personally come our home so everyone cast his/her vote to her).

You see ..... ordinary people respect that she was just like their daughter and what PPP has done to these people. So meaning is that we need to create awareness about these cheaters............... so that a better Pakistani leadership can be created for Pakistan's development

Not at all, none of our political party is democratic. But again, this is how democracy works every where I guess. Even in the 'motherland of democracy' England, system works in screwed manner. or in so called 'biggest democracy in the world' India, offsprings of Nehru are ruling the party, When Behar's CM Yadav got issues with court, his wife Rabri Devi became CM, in ShivSena Bal Thakrey has his son as the future leader, a detached one OK, but still the future leader.......

I think this stems in to the mentality (un-educated, third class mentality) of our people. We always look for personalities and worship them, we dont want people as leaders, we want devis and devtaas in that place. We make our devtaa and start worshiping them and then become blind, both side of the argument become blind, some term them as devtaa and some term them as evil, absolute evil.

And this is apparent in this forum as well. The moment some one disagree with you, first thing our "analysts" of Pakistan politics do is label them as Yahudi, or Indian or Ghaddar!!!! There is no common ground in our mentality.

Try to say about Quaid-e-Azam that he was dictator in his approach in managing Muslim League and see what people will say.

This same approach help those political families to stay in power generation after generation by just uttering words about democracy and not doing any thing at all about it in their pwn parties.

Pakistan needs an overhauling on a massive scale. A system with no provinces, religious sectarianism or political parties flags. Just one flag and just one religion(no sects) and just one unit with administrative divisions.

I am afraid this is not the solution in my opinion. Provinces in itslef are administrative units, You dont want to call them Province, it is OK, call them states, or Cities, or towns, or whatever you want, it is not the issue, Issue is decentralization of Power in that administration. Dont forget in Khilafat-e-rashida, there were provinces and Khaleefa used to appoint Governers for those provinces. We are so ignorant about real histpry and real islam we just take any crap handed over to us by any sef-claimed revolutionist and dont even think about it in any details.

Dont assume about other people's knowledge of history. During Khilafat-e-Rashida, the provinces were not based on ethnicity while in Pakistan, three os the provinces in Pakistan namely Sindh, Balochistan and now KhyberPakhtoonkha are named on the base of ethnicity. Panjab needs to be divided aswell in small units as well as other provinces so to shift the focus from Lahore and Rawalpindi to other cities and small villages. Administrative powers need to be passed on to these small units. Making numerous small administrative divisions will abolish the ethnicity issue and everyone would be a Pakistani and that would mean abolishing of quota system and uniform application of law and merit throughout the country. So again just one flag and just one religion (no sects) and just one country with administrative divisions. e.g, France and England have no provinces. The administrative divisions can be called anything that is true.

I agree with decentralization of power and passing of real authority y=to people, this is what democracy is all about by the way.

But I want to correct a misconception here. Those provinces in earlier days of Islam were not adjusted or created by Muslim rulers. those provinces were indeed based on Qabayli division. Those qabayils were divided and different from each other due to liguistic identity / culture / nationality. And all these lements are basis of ethinic division, practically speaking.

Please make this correction

Hazrat Umar divided the provinces purely on administrative basis not on any linguistic or cultural basis and nationality issue was not present in those times. It was introduced much later by the Europeans.
