Apple may announce new iPads, Mac operating system next week

Apple is holding an event in San Francisco next week to announce new products, likely updated iPads.

The company announced its most recent iPads around this time last year. The announcement included a smaller version, called the Mini, for the first time.
New iPads would get Apples latest operating system for mobile devices, iOS 7. The invitation sent on Tuesday includes a graphic that mimics the color scheme in iOS 7.
Next Tuesdays event will take place at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco, a venue Apple has often used in the past.
It follows last months release of new iPhones with iOS 7, the 5S model with a fingerprint sensor and a cheaper, 5C model with a variety of colour options.
It is also possible that Apple will use the event to release its new Mac operating system, Mavericks. Apple unveiled the system in June. The system will support tagging to help you find files more easily. It also promises better battery life and a way to keep track of passwords across multiple devices more easily.
Apple may also announce new Mac computers at the event.

As expected, Apple has today confirmed October 22 as the date for the expected iPad and Mac special event. As is traditional, the event will kick off at 10am PST. This time around proceedings will be taking place at the Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco, under the tagline "we still have a lot to cover."

So, what are we expecting? Apple still has new iPads for 2013 to launch, including the refreshed full sized iPad that should take on the look of the iPad mini. A new iPad mini is also likely, though at this point it's still anyones guess as to whether it will or will not include a Retina Display.
Away from iPads, we're also expecting October 22 to bring news on the Mac front. OS X Mavericks is due for imminent release, the already announced Mac Pro should be getting some attention, and we could be looking at a Haswell update for the MacBook Pro line.
