Whenever it comes to our foreign policy towards US and India, Sethi sb.'s analysis is always skewed. Otherwise, this is one of the better programs, especially on domestic issues.
I dont agree with mr.sethi's analysis today, i dont know why he is trying to take the american side when its already clear that his diplomatic passport have a business visa till 2012 issued in islamabad that does not mean he is a diplomat because most of the bureaucrats are issued diplomatic passport for foreign tour but that does not mean ,they are diplomats.He is a spy and had illegal weapons ,GPS,telescope and maps of the city ,does the diplomats carry these kinds of stuff in the car with a fake license plate.we should stand up once for all against this nonsense which US is doing with pakistan.Gen Hamid Gull was right that the american's final destination is pakistan because of its nukes,dont show your cowardness otherwise US will not let us live.we want to live but without the american's help,God help us ,ameen. world will see how americans will survive without paksitan's help in afghanistan.what dr.afia did that she got 86 years sentence,mr.sethi today you are not fair with your comments,very biased and disappointed.

Forget abt the case; he will be set free by court as he took action in self defense. This is much clearer case than going into whetehr hes a diplomat or not. That is a big legal debate.

Release this cowboy ( it's in Pak interest and whatever he was doing in Pak was in the knowledge of those who are calling shots in Pakistan and sooner or later the corrupt ruling elite will accept it) and hang Mumtaz Qadri (it's also in Pak interest) immediately.

Most of the Pakistanis don't realize how much harm Musharaf has caused to Pakistan and its sovereignty. Yeah we deserve this kind of situation in the country till we have people who cannot get their concepts right.

Punjab government is no one to decide about immunity. They are right in their request from federal government/foreign ministry to advise if Davis has diplomatic immunity. Najam Sethi always speaks against PML(N) and so skewing opinons of peole like you. Just think with common sense. Diplomatic immunity is not in jurisdiction of Punjab Govt. so how can they grant it or establish that it exists? Actually federal government has to do it and they are not doing it. The burden of proof of diplomatic immunity is on them not on Punjab government. What Punjab govt can do is to ensure a fair trial and police investigation. That's all.
Anyone can give any threat. US cannot win the war without the help of Pakistan. The "national interest" Najam Sethi is mentioning again and again is getting more aid and filling up the TIJURIS of PPP government. Then he mentioned "do according to law" or "according to emotions". How does he give decisions? Sethi always comes alone in program with a JUNIOR so that there is no one to challenge.
Sethi rightly expressed his disappintment over the SC orders. Unfortunately, no one can challenge the secret government in Pakistan i.e. Army Generals and ISI.
The interim government solution is rightly laid down by Najam Sethi but very late. Many people including Zaid Hamid and other analysts have brought forward this solution. If we want that interim government to continue and improve, it should have a great leader and the only person who seem to be able to deliver is IMRAN KHAN.
I think the easiest solution to Davis case is Federal government issuing a letter that he holds immunity. If he really holds diplomatic immunity, what fear federal govt has? Perhaps he doesn't hold such immunity. Second better solution is "self-defence".
The relationship developed by Musharaf was not in our interest. They were not well negotiated and were in short-term. We should NOT break relations with US at all, obviously. But we need to be better negotiators. The problem is that our leaders like Musharaf, Zardari, Gillani, etc. consider US as GOD. They right away go in SAJDA in front of US. I recommend everyone to read a simple business book: "Getting to YES - Negotiating agreements without giving in". We do not negotiate well. In this respect as well, I believe Imran Khan will be a much better negotiator.
To give answer to Hasan (who sent sms), Nawaz Sharif is doing right and acting very mature. He doesn't have power to get vote of confidence. I am not a supporter of PML(N) but am impressed how Nawaz Sharif who used to be quite a stupid politician has transformed into a mature politician. I second Najam Sethi's point that Sharifs have learned a lot in exile.

Maybe I ask those who chose "national interests" above all else:
Will they seek prostitution as a viable option as it will help them earn money and meet their financial "interests"? Why cares about dignity, right?
Will they say the same if someone close to them was killed in this incident?
Will they say the same if a woman close to them was raped by an American "diplomat"?
Will they still say, just hand him over, and get some dollars in return?
Sorry for being crude, but if a person does not have a moral threshold after which he will not care about any interest, that person does not deserved to be called human. If you don't have a tipping point, a breaking point, you are no better than others members of animal kingdom. Because humanity lies in having a set of ethical standards, not hankering after any benefits one can get.
This is not a "jazbati" (emotional) claptrap, this is a fundamental truth.
No to "Pakistan first", yes to "Pakistanis first" - humanity first.
