2.5 Billions Scam in Laptop Distribution by Punjab Govt

One of my friend informed me that Punjab Govt has allocated Rs 40,000 for each laptop from Govt funds but actual price of laptop is less than 15,000. So in this was they have scammed Rs 25,000 in each laptop...

They have to distribute 100,000 laptop & Rs. 25,000 from each laptop makes it Rs. 2.5 billions

Please comment...

It is a pointless scheme. When a big percentage of our chidren are not even getting basic education these funds can be far better utilised in addressing the core issues such as schooling facilities in the rural areas. We are talking about Rs. 4bn here. Thousands of schools can be opened and financed for the next few years by this money. Instead it is spent on laptops to be distributed among some students. And for what? We are talking of students who are already studying and have computer labs, internet cafes etc. available to them. What a waste of resources only for naare baazi purposes. Surely such schemes are meant for personal glorification as well as commissions as you have suggested. However, i wouldnt blame anyone for corruption without more authentic evidence.

There is nothing to comment bro..corruption is in their blood.

They will find more ways of looting people's money with this kind of fraudlent schemes. I wonder how much is made in 'Danish school' project. only time will tell.

As you all aware of the Punjab Government Free Laptop Scheme for students. The Chief Minister of Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif is giving about 100,000 free laptops to top students of the province. The specifications of laptop is revealed by him today on his Facebook page, which are as following:


  • Company: Dell
  • Screen: 14″
  • Processor: Intel Pentium Dual Core B950 HM65 chipset
  • Memory: 2 GB of 3DDR III
  • Hard Disk: 320 GB with super drive.
  • Targus carrying case
  • Extended warranty of 15 months on parts as well as battery
  • And a free Laptop Bag
While having a look at these specs, this would be Dell Latitude E5420 machine.

WOH you should take place of ansar abbasi as an investigative Journalist ... $100 is the federal excise duty if you import laptop

I guess that price of laptop will be less than RS: 15,000 coz you are going to buy in bulk Qautity of 100,000 pcs. A good purchase can get more discount on this deal.
Suleman Shareef can make another industry in punjab and will come on TV with Sana Bucha and will tell us that they have business which is growing more than 200%............amazing we are still supporting them.

The Standard Price of the laptop they are giving is 39,900 Rs as per canadian currency conversion to Pakistani Rs .



ANd Keep in mind that u are buying 1 lakh + laptops . Bulk Purchases are always Sasti .

Its 1 lakh 25 thousand now . It would have been better if they had contacted the Companies directly , instead of tenders.......................

the original price is 60,000 for the same laptop, so the 'sasti' price would be 39,900... wht else discount u expect from dell??? they are doing business not charity... so 15,000 is way out of question... ager charity main kuck layna hai to bill gates say contact karo, woh charity karta hai bot Dell

Dear Friends,

15000 main khair nhi mily ga leken i have bought a new laptop with same specs "dual core" with some accessories (mouse, bag, headphone, 4gb usb) in 1000 Dhs(rupees 24000). and you know very well that dealers have to make profit. so if government make a big purchase deal of 1 lac laptops, price can be brought down up to 17-18000 rupees.

The point raise by "Mr. Non stop leo" is genuine that a good amount being earned as commission by some leaguei people. This trend will be change inshAllah by PTI government.

I love such scams in which if 50% of the money goes to poor or avg people.....for me its not scam. Awam ko toh khuch mila
