I hope this is just a rumor, as it is hard to believe that a person who was treated so respectfully , he spoke honestly that he was with the forces because that`s what he had to do having no choices, and his honesty was appreciated and he was guaranteed every safety and his position. If this is true that he has disappeared and taken refuge in Iran, this will be not good for him and could complicate the Iran , Afghan relations as well.

It is not a good news for Taliban at all.
It was rumored that Ismael Khan will join new interim setup. He was also in favor of US-led political negotiations with Taliban in the past.
Presently Iran is not expected to interfere or go against China, but Hazarajat is a pivotal issue for inclusive and stable government and for a healthy balance in Taliban policies as well. Taliban have not really fought or won in Hazarajat provinces in the central Afghanistan but these provinces have a large presence in Kabul city and in educated intelligential..
Hope Ismael Khan has retired (he is in eighties) for some new leadership otherwise it is no good in the long rum - because long-term real threat to. Taliban is from South.
