Is it true that after this amendment, no law enforcement agency will be able to question state bank? It's like being above the law.
I think.... jitnay moonh uutni baatain. Let's see what comes out from the debate in the National Assembly and the Senate and after that we will be in a position to form an informed opinion. Its too early to say anything at this point in time.
Anyway, my gut feeling is... whatever is portrayed in the media is far from reality. No country on this planet earth will ever hand over its central bank to anyone outside of its government. Simply not possible.

Autonomy doesnt mean being above the law. Autonomy means it will make vital decisions without being dictated by any political pressure. That is how it should be.

If this had been the case from the beginning, Ishaq Dar would never be able to spend billions of dollars trying to prop up the rupee. If this had been the case, hundi/hawala culture would have died its natural death years ago.

Its going to bring some culture shocks, as we are not used to independence of institutions, but in the long run, it is a wonderful thing. This, combined with the Pak rupee going free float and becoming a tradable instrument, will bring wonders for the economy in the long run.

It means even if PTI government goes , no other political parties will be able to use it for their benefits.

Everything is not about foreign loans. You have to spent for your day to day expenses like salaries and life saving subsidies.

Yes, and govt will still have the ability to borrow from SBP to do that. Just that the govt should not be able to dictate interest rates, exchange rate and GDP data to the SBP.
