اسی دوران وزیردفاع خواجہ آصف نے ایک پریس کانفرنس کی جس میں وہ عوام کو سانحہ کرم پر تسلی دینے یا کوئی واضح پالیسی بیان دینے کے بجائے، سیاسی مخالفین پر تنقید کرتے رہے۔ ان کی گفتگو کا زیادہ تر حصہ بشریٰ بی بی پر طنزیہ جملے بازی اور دیگر غیر متعلقہ معاملات پر مشتمل تھا۔

یہ صورتحال عوام میں شدید غم و غصے کا باعث بنی ہے۔ سوشل میڈیا پر صارفین حکومت اور میڈیا کی بے حسی پر سوال اٹھا رہے ہیں۔ لوگ مطالبہ کر رہے ہیں کہ سانحہ کرم کے شہداء کے لیے انصاف فراہم کیا جائے اور دہشتگردی کے خلاف موثر اقدامات کیے جائیں۔
