I saw these cars in America and the system failed because the car runs on battery but it have to be charge with the electric power to run the power house you have to run the power houses either with coal or Nuclear energy so if it is Coal as most of the power plants are coal fired than you are not doing any good for the environment as air is still polluted be it a power house or the exhaust of Car and mind it there is no shortage of Power in America as they had installed power connectors even at stores I remember a COSTCO store near my home had put several connections for this purpose and i never saw a single car there using it and a couple of years later they took those connections off. Only 2 Hybrid cars in America have seen good days the first one was a Honda but later when Toyota came up with Prius that Honda also left the market as they could not compete with. GM also came up with a Electric Car and was criticized harshly by the critics as the GM was saying there is Zero emission by this car but the argument was the same when you charge it with the electric grid the emissions are there by the Coal fired generation system.

First of all, hopefully you could view youtube then see how this car has failed in USA while Obama has announced to bring 1 million EV's by 2014 on the roads of USA.

I honor your augment that electric car is not as green as it is mentioned or known. But at least it's zero emission when on the road unlike gasoline cars which cause emission during the manufacturing and after it. Besides, how green is oil refinery to support the argument that electric cars are not green. So why are you reluctant to change worst with bad.
Secondly, if somebody producing electricity with coal and nuclear energy then it's their fault but electricity is not coal or nuclear only product. It can be produced from many environmental friendly ways. Besides, the cost of electricity is 1/5 of the gasoline. Doesn't it really appeal you. At least dependency on oil can be reduced by an affordable alternate.
