Looks like either the child was mentally retarded or there can be something else suspected as the mother left the child at home and found him dead on her return. It can also be a case of homicide, made to look like a suicide.

This is an altogether different issue. Blame bad parenting and their oversight or ask a doctor for mental/behavioral issues. You might blame society for lack of social/psychological help facilities . however your social pressure or shaming issue is not related.
