You need to study the process in detail, which briefly is during sunshine solar cells charge batteries and then provide power its not just frames of many cells there is a whole system which goes with it, I know a bit as in 1984 I was fired from a department in Pakistan who without permission opened up an instrument which was supplied with solar panel to generate its own power for that small research station and was sitting in store, my fault was I just opened and put together the whole instrument in my time and made it functional in Zhob Balochistan a semi arid zone, since then I am in USA for good.

Pakistan Meteorological Department has been collected data on sunshine hours and Ozone thickness since 1950 and never did a single thing with it other than filling in sheets and sheets of paper and storing in storage,There was an instrument in Gilgit which was operational since 1960 which worked on principle of gravity without power
