حالیہ دنوں میں افغانستان کی بگڑی ہوئی صورت حال میں کچھ بہتری دیکھنے میں آئی ہے اور الیکشن کا حتمی نتیجہ سامنے آگیا ہے ۔ طالبان کی مخالفت کے باوجود گذشتہ انتخابات میں عوام نے بھرپور حصہ لے کر ثابت کردیا کہ حق رائے دہی ان کا حق ہے چاہے طالبان کو کتنا ہی ناگوار کیوں نہ ہو ۔ اپنی تین نسلیں جنگوں اور خانہ جنگی کی نظر کرنے کے بعد جہاں افغانوں کو اپنی تقدیر بدلنے کا ایک چانس ملا ہے وہاں طالبان نے سیاسی دھارے میں شمولیت کا ایک اور موقع گنوا دیا ہے ۔ طالبان کی طرف سے مکمل خاموشی ہے ، لگتا ہے کہ فی الحال ملا عمر تیل اور تیل کی دھار دیکھ رہے ہیں ۔ تاریخ بتاتی ہے کہ طالبان نے طاقت کے زور پر افغانستان کا کنٹرول حاصل کیا مگر مستقبل میں شاید ایسا نہ ہوسکے ۔ افغان اب مزید خانہ جنگی کے متحمل نہیں ہوسکتے اور اس کا ادراک ملا عمر نے اپنے عید پیغام میں بھی کیا ہے ۔ اب دیکھنا یہ ہے کہ حالات کیا رخ اختیار کرتے ہیں ۔ کیا افغانستان کے مستقبل میں طالبان کا کوئی کردار ہوگا یا پھر ملا عمر جیسے گمنامی سے ابھرے تھے ویسے ہی گمنامی میں اتر جائیں گے
Afghanistan's election commission has declared Ashraf Ghani the winner of the country's disputed presidential election.
The commission's announcement on Sunday came hours after Ghani signed a power sharing agreement with rival Abdullah Abdullah, who will fill the newly created position of government chief executive.
The final vote tally from a UN-audit was not released by the commission, but its chairman, Ahmad Yousuf Nuristani, acknowledged grave flaws in the election process and said that the UN audit could not detect all voting issues.The unity deal reached on Saturday puts an end to months of political turmoil following June's presidential elections which both candidates claimed victory in, destablising the nation at a time when US-led NATO combat troops prepared to leave after 13 years of fighting the Taliban.The White House welcomed Sunday's power-sharing deal, which it said "helps bring closure to Afghanistan's political crisis".Preliminary results released in July showed Ghani ahead of ex-foreign minister Abdullah with 56 percent of the vote.
