I was surprised when I first found out that apparently most of the western world doesn't have any law against using old tyres. Authorities here are super strict on this, tyre could be in perfect shape but older than 3 years, car doesn't pass its annual registration.

Who told u that western countries dont have laws against using old tyres? Laws are strick , laws for both winter tires , summer , ice tyres , their different seasons and 3.5mm must for every tyre , remember that new tyres are around 8-9 mm , which means they dont hold for even 2 years depending on ur usage and u have to change them otherwise fines are greater than than cost of four tyres :) just for ur information:) I have been fined once 430usd :)

Sorry for not being more clearer, what I meant was for use of "expired" i.e old tyres.
