You guys should stop watching Pakistani media. This "huw'wa" of bureaucracy created by them, specially by the Eienstien of Layyah a.k.a Rauf Klasra is not as dangerous as you think it is.
This is just part of the narrative to demoralize the people and so far it has worked on alot of people.
Is there is a problem, of course there is, but don't forget you need it too to keep the wheels of the nation turning.
Right now IMO the real problem is bureaucracy is too fat which also festers and hides corruption. Director, additional director, secretary, special secretary, director general, head of xyz, assistant to khota of the vice additional deputy's kuttas acting chairmans bhains.
This fat needs to be trimmed down, not only this makes everything slow, but also a drain on our exchequer.
Trimming the fat will not only make things efficient but also more transparent, as they won't be able to hide in the huge layers of hierarchy and just pass the blame on to the one lower than them.
Unfortunately and this problem exists everywhere, it is near impossible to fire a govt employee.
So in my naive and uninformed mind abolish these ranks and positions and transfer people to other provinces. Maybe create new thin and lean departments that actually help the country and its citizens to fit these new jobless yet employed bureaucrats.
