Pakistan : Constitution of Pakistan confirms Islam as the state religion

Should Pakistan declare official religion as "Sunni Islam" with focus on "reforming the Ummah" to united the different (Sects) firqas (Salafi, Ahle-hadis, Deobandi, Sufi, Baralevi, Razakhani) to form a "Sahih Sunni" or "Sahih Muslim"?

It will be a major milestone and it will reduce the infighting between different firqas. It will reduce extremism, Shirk and bidaati practices in Pakistan.

Islamic Shura Council (ISC) or Moderate Islamic Principles (MIP) should be created by government, and this organization should define Islam "Sahih Sunni" as the official religion of the state.

The Institute of Islamic Values and Arabic-language need to be established to create a Islamic utopia and build the society based on Islamic Shura Council (ISC) (or Moderate Islamic Principles (MIP)).
This government based institute's primary responsibility will be to education the masses about Islam which was sent by Allah (swt) and preached by Nabi Kareem (Saw). This institute will use all different mediums (TV channels, Social Media, Internet, live Lectures) to educate people about real Islam. The ultimate goal of this institute will be to control and stop the un-Islamic practices that have become the part of our religion due to lack of real knowledge about Islam.
If it's done correctly, we should see significant decrease in extremism, in shirk and bidaati practices, for example, celebrating Urs (music, dancing, drugs, etc), making sajda to the qabar/graves, making dua to the dead, fake peer/muridi culture. We should also see religious tolerance which means No violence against religious minorities, Shia, Hindus, Sikh, etc. This should pressure government to reform of the controversial blasphemy laws.

Defining the responsibility of Islamic Shura Council (ISC) or Moderate Islamic Principles (MIP):

1 ) Educate the masses about real islam (uniting the many firqa into one as "Sahih Sunni" or "Sahih Muslim") - (No Bidat and Shrik should be taught by Islamic channels)

2) Under the guidance from Islamic Supreme Council (ISC), government will help setup a National Madressa Board (NMB)

"National Madressa board should work with The Institute of Islamic Values and Arabic-language, a Islamic research Instituted founded and control by Pakistani government, to create, authorize and implement Islamic Madressa Curriculum (IMC) which should include Quranic education, Arabic language, Social studies (Pakistan History), Mathematics, Science and Computer courses. South African Islamic institutes have built a similar curriculum for their Seminaries."

3) Discussion will be held with religious Scholars from various countries to control extremism and innovations in Islam.

4) ISC will be responsible for control extermist activities, including funding for any extremist groups.

5) ISC will help government to create and implement law to reduce Religious Intolerance (No violence against religious minorities, Shia, Hindus, Sikh, etc)

6) ISC will be responsible for educating new scholars in missionary work. These scholars will be responsible for educating minorities about real Islam in Pakistan, they will also be responsible to travel overseas for missionary work.

7) ISC will work with Police and government agencies to catch Jali Molvi, Jali peer, Jali babas and fake spiritual healers.

8) All the madaris, masajid, Imambargahs, Jamat Khanas, Mandirs, Churches and Gurdwaras should be under the supervision of Islamic Shura Council (ISC)

9) If "Islam - Sahih Sunni" became the state religious than ISC will submit a request to the government to make it compulsory to teach religious curriculum (prepared by ISC) to elementary and middle school children.

Will it work in Pakistan? Please post your comments?

Today by supporting Mumtaz Qadri various sects have endorsed his biddati views too. Now there is nothing biddati in Pakistan. It is all halal. Trapped cleverly !

Coming Eid Mufti Muneeb will announce the Eid moon sighting and Siraj ul Haq will have to face the wrath of the majority of the masses if he disagrees. Barelvis have won it extremely outrightly.

Since Pakistan is a Muslim state I think its necessary that it should declare its sect, Otherwise we will remain confused all the time, deciding who is right and who is wrong.

State has nothing to do with religion and neither state should control religious matters otherwise we will have two gods like we have two eids every year.

The religion of Islam was COMPLETED and PERFECTED 1400 years ago. There is NO need and nor is it allowed to "reform" the religion. If it is anything that needs reforming it is our a'mal or actions that need "reforming". We need to go back to the original txt, i.e the Quran and authentic Hadith to do that.

good idea to start a shia-sunni war. you don't have to be Sunni or Shia to be a muslim. just being Muslim is enough

No, rather we should have Islam without any sect. Historically sects have not been problem in South Asia. People have been respectful of each other, and never fought to impose themselves on others. From the time of Afghan Jehad when religion was maligned with dollars, the sects became an industry. Jehadi schools and Taliban are made in this industry who have become the source of big power, prestige and financial benefits. The corrupt Mullahs patronize it, the foreigners fund it. This Jehadi mafia sale their services to best bidders, and thus ever since Pakistan has been systematically destroyed. Religion which is our source of strength has been turned into a weapon against us and our state.
Unless the state reigns supreme, this cancer of Afghan Jehad corrupt mafia mullahs cannot be eliminated and enemies of Pakistan will continue to use them against Pakistan. The government has to establish its writ within the state, but for that to happen a just and criteria base system would have to be put in place which our corrupt, powerful mafias are not allowing to happen as they are entrenched in our state institutions as well as in politics. Everything has been turned into grey and people have lost the sense of right and wrong as our private media has a lot of foreign funding which is systematically enhancing the grey areas. A confused majority and corrupt mafia are playing havoc with the country. Someone has to act to put the sustem back on the track.

Reforming the Ummah not ISLAM.

Government is busy in corruption and looting the money.

Movlis are busy fighting with each other on minor things. (Same kind of situation happened in Baghdad before the invasion by Tatar )

People of Pakistan are deeply invlove in Shirk and biddat. Who is going to reform them?

You edited your comment but forgot to do it for the title which still says "reforming the religion". Like I said before we do need to change our ways by going back to Quran and sunnah....it's starts from the scholars but everyone is obligated to learn themselves.
