Non serious attitude of Govt

A few days back there was a suggestion here about raising dollars by allowing one car totally tax free to NICOP holders (Overseas Pakistani's) if they deposit a sum of 10k usd in a bank account for a minimum of three years. The condition being that this car would not be allowed to be further sold. This was a quick way to offset some of the damage of the potential loss caused by Covid 19. Instead our govt comes up with lame suggestions today of offering discounted tuition fee at OPF schools and colleges and abolishing WTH on cash remittances. Are these guys just fooling themselves? If you are in a financial crunch you have to take measures and out of the box solutions. I wouldn't be sending my kids to schools imparting pedestrian education at best even if its free at OPF school system.

SO FOR GOD SAKE INSTEAD OF WASTING TIME JUST ALLOW ONE DUTY FREE IMPORT CAR TAX FREE AND NON TRANSFERABLE AGAINST A SUM OF 10K USD

Dost yaqeen man hum itni koi shodi qaum hai agr aik gadee ke allowance mil jati hai against 10k usd kept in bank for three years many people will remit money. Can easily shore up foreign account reserves and then reduce interest rates to promote local growth.

And btw thats a horrible idea, to lock up your $10,000 for three years just for a tax free car, in which govt loses the tax on it, Govt makes more money from tax on that car than that $10,000 3 year deposit. And right now our balance of payment deficit is not in critical condition like it was in 2018.

Demand contraction and tax collection are directly proportional. My suggestion was for remittance to be sent in the next two to three months. You have only single narrow vision while the govt has to look at 100s of other related aspects from every angle to every decision they make. Not a single car sold first of all where did you get that statistic from and even if it is true for the sake of argument, just shows right now in this time of uncertainty everybody is holding off any large and mostly unnecessary purchases.

You are a fasli batair you have proven that, so your arguments really don't carry much weight. First you were spewing out non stop vile crud because of the construction sector situation once that changed now all of a sudden you are all pro govt again but now slowly moving towards going back to spewing crud over your worthless tax free car idea.
