Most police officers commit robberies at night: Justice Gulzar

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court observed on Thursday the police system across the country has failed, reported ARY News.

A bench of the apex court, headed by Justice Gulzar Ahmed, was hearing a petition demanding an increase in salaries of Punjab’s traffic warden.

Justice Gulzar said: “There doesn’t exist anything called police in the country.”

He questioned what have the police been doing which warrants an increase in their salaries? They remain involved in foul practices despite the fact that they are being paid handsomely, he added.

The SC judge said government officers didn’t perform their duties diligently in a fair manner but remained worried about raise in allowances.

“Most of the police officers commit robberies at night,” he said. “Crimes are rampant as people’s throats are being slit. Where are the police?”

“They receive salaries as well as bribe from people,” he added.

Justice Gulzar said Punjab’s secretary finance doesn’t even know what his job is.

The secretary finance said the provincial government intended to restore the traffic wardens’ increased basic salary and allowances which were previously frozen for some reasons.

The bench directed the state counsel to come prepared on the next hearing and adjourned the hearing for two weeks.

He is saying right. Police officers not only commit crimes, but also supply their service weapons on rent to other criminals.

Honourable justice sb we want action against the police ( poison of society) not information about their wrong doing and terrorist activities ,in developed countries when someone saw police they felt themselves comfortable and safe but unfortunately in Pakistan and Azad Kashmir our police is a big nasoor and sign of calamity.

This is a real catch 22, with a rock behind and sea in front! Police can only do what they are trained for. Despite agreeing with justice about the status of police force I have to express my sympathy for the ill equipped in terms of education training, gear and power policemen.
As for their officers, yes get them and get them hard they do not deserve sympathy.

Until there is law and order, nothing will work. No amount of investment etc will fix this country. Sadly, PTI govt so far hasn't done anything in this area. It's business as usual. No police reforms whatsoever.

جب یہ بات اعلی عدلیہ کے علم میں ہے تو ایک معقول تعداد میں ان آفیسران کو ایسی سزائیں سنائی جاتیں یا سنائی جائیں کے نشان عبرت ہوں دوسروں کے لئے تو مناسب ہو. اس کے لئے کمنٹ دینا کوئی حل نہیں کیونکہ مجرم اخلاقیات کو نہیں جانتے اسی لئے سزائیں بنائی گئیں ان کے لئے

اتنے لمبے لمبے کیسز سننا جن پر عوام کا پیسا بے انتھا خرچ ہوتا ہے اور خرابی کی نشاندہی کے بعد یہ کہ دینا کے ہم ایسے ناقص آئیں کے تحت لوگوں کی زندگیوں پر فیصلے دے رہے ہیں زیادہ چلے گا نہیں
