Imran Khan to visit Swabi and Buner on thursday

SWABI: The officials of the district administration said on Tuesday that 2,260 displaced families had so far arrived here from Buner district and got them registered with the administration.

Thousands of locals have vacated their houses for the IDPs and their registration has been started, the officials said. Pulil Khan, a social welfare officer, said that they were registering the families who opted to stay in different regions of the district with their relatives or friends.

Another officer admitted that the number of IDPs, staying with their friends or relatives is much high than those opted to stay in government camps in Yar Hussain.

Pulil said, We have so far registered 2,040 families and their number is increasing. We are determined to accelerate our registration process because only the registered people are authorised to get the foodstuff and other incentives from the offices of the World Food Programme and Sarhad Rural Support Programme located at Kunda Mor on Swabi-Jehangira road.

Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf provincial president Asad Qaisar has said that party chairman Imran Khan would visit the IDPs camps in district Swabi tomorrow (Thursday) and he (Imran) has also planned to visit Buner.

He said that Imran Khan would meet the IDPs and the PTI would help the displaced persons from Buner in every possible way.The dwellers of Tarakai village in Swabi have vacated the entire town to accommodate IDPs coming from Buner after 250 more families arrived on Tuesday.
