Violent kidnapping leaves 1 son dead, another shot and 63-year-old dad found seriously injured in Hamilton​

An early-morning kidnapping of a Hamilton man during a violent home invasion left one of his sons dead and another son shot before the 63-year-old was later found in serious condition, police say.

Faqir Ali was found on Beach Boulevard near the Burlington Lift Bridge around 9 a.m. ET Thursday with serious, life-threatening injuries, Hamilton police spokesperson Const. Indy Bharaj said.

Ali was "taken forcefully" from his home near Glancaster Road and Dickenson Road in Mount Hope around 3 a.m., said police.

Khalid Suleman, Ali's brother-in-law, told CBC Hamilton from his home in Pakistan on Thursday that the whole family is "shocked."

"[My sister] told me ... 'someone ... broke doors, and shoot my children and abduct my husband,'" Suleman said.

Officers found Ali's sons, both in their 20s, with gunshot wounds, Bharaj said, adding one has died and the other was in surgery as of 10 a.m.

"It's disturbing," said the media relations officer, noting the incident marks the third shooting the city has seen in the past week. "This isn't something that Hamilton should ever get used to."

Investigators believe the incident was targeted, but are still working to determine a motive.

The victims were not known to police.

Bharaj said he does not believe the suspects made contact with police at any point.

"Our understanding is that there were multiple people involved," he added, but he was not immediately able to provide suspect descriptions. Police also believe a dark SUV was involved.

Following the kidnapping, Bharaj said police believed Ali's life was in danger.

"The main focus of this investigation, at this time, is bringing Faqir home safely," he said at the time.

Police said Ali was taken from his home wearing only a pair of black and white pyjama pants, with no shirt.

Bharaj said Ali is in hospital, but would not provide any detail of his injuries or how police came to find him.

Police are asking the public to stay away from the scene in Mount Hope and from near the Burlington Lift Bridge as the major crime unit investigates.

Anyone with dashcam footage taken near the bridge around 9 a.m. is asked to contact police.

I dont want to upset anyone but you have to understand western cultures are different and take offence if you draw attention to your 'foreign' culture by walking around in Shalwar/Kameez, tamby/kurta or your women wear a F**king burka like a ninja outfit. If you live in their countries then they expect you to assimilate to some degree and not walk about looking like a Taliban Fanboy. If you find this offensive then dont go to a western country. Even in middle east they appear to be more moderate but Pakistan is just extremists or mullah mentality, you can be muslim and not fascist/extreme like taliban.

Just turn the tables around and how many Pakistanis would tolerate a decent sized portion of the population to be white westerners and dress, behave and act exactly as they do back home. Demand that bars and clubs be opened for them, pork to be widely served in restaurants and they should be allowed to roam around in shorts and tank tops, while barely speaking the local language, have no real social interaction with the locals, stay in their groups and areas etc etc.

This is the biggest complaint I've heard from Canadians and Brits, that us "asians" refuse to assimilate into their society, clusterfuck and biggest of all, bring with them all the problems and issues because of which they originally left their home country in the first place.

Sadly Pakistani's are seen as backward in every country on earth (the english still call us illiterate peasants) even in middle east countries they have realised people need to progress and are increasingly secular and still muslim (an education system that doesnt force religion down your throat wont kill you and will set you up for life with some dignity and self respect) In Pakistan the 'holier than thou' mullah brigade think you can solve problems only by praying at least 15 times a day, someone should tell these stone age monkeys in the 21st Century you need Science/Tech/Engineering and Maths etc. as well as hard work. If you go to foreign lands dont take your ignorance with you and for goodness sake, be a part of the community where you make your home. No country on earth wants Pakistan immigrants, they would rather have afghans!
Sorry to rant but i have seen people who are hypocrits back home but as soon as they arrive in the west they start dressing like taliban with billygoat beards and all of a sudden acquire ultra extreme religious piety ideas in a foreign country of all places. If they want to walk around like a billygoat beard taliban then they should stay in their mudhut village in some backward part of Pakistan, dont disgrace the entire Pak race by going abroad and acting like some gandu goat bothering hermits, be civilised like the rest of the human race. If the dirty little gandu indians can assimilate and gain respect, it should not be a problem for a nobler people like Pakistanis.
