Dr. Zakir is amazing; he a human super computer!
Zakir Naik is a liar and his teachings are misleading and poisoning the youth. People should not be following such charlatans in this age of information technology when you can easily do a google search and see how dishonest he is.

What did he lie about; quote some examples?

He uses the ignorance of his followers to his advantage in his arguments. For example a boy asked him about evolution, he twisted the meaning of the meaning of scientific theory to mean the word theory in lay man's terms to undermine its actual meaning as his followers do not understand the meaning of scientific theory or the difference between theory, fact or hypothesis.
<font size="4">
He often lies about the translation of Arabic in the Quran and make up his own meanings for example in one verse he used a word and said it means ostrich egg to prove that Quran says the Earth is spherical when in fact that word meant the place where a bird lays egg and not the egg itself. This interpretation of Naik was in direct contradiction of Surah Kahf, Sahih Hadith and tafsirs of the Quran of the first 400 years of Islam.
?There is much more if you look for it, but the bottom line is his teachings are dishonest/pseudo scientific, its teaching Pakistani kids ideas that directly contradict with established scientific facts. This will make our country even more backward.
Don't underestimate the intelligence of his listeners. The Quran in many instances is open to interpretation, so he has his own angle on some subjects but within intent and spirit of the Quran. However you cannot say that he is wrong. You and me may interpret the same thing in a different way. That's why we have so many 'tafseers' by different Islamic scholars.
Quran is not open to interpretations. Quran says that in many places that it is not difficult to understand. The only people who say that Quran is hard to understand are the ones who don't want you to read it. When you keep it open to interpretations people can make their own version of the religion by basically making up stuff.
Its clear language to understand.
But if you are in doubt you can:
1) read sahih hadith and see if it matches with what the quran is saying about that topic.
2) read the authentic tafsir from Arabia, from the time of Muhammad or just a few centuries after him. Do not read tafsir from mullahs of subcontinent of 19th or 20th century, most of that stuff is made up.
3) Check other instances or verse of the quran where that phrase or word is use to see what it means there to interpret its meaning.
Zakir Naik skips all of those and make up his own meaning, which will directly conflict with what the Quran says in other parts of the Quran, and also go against Sahih Hadith.
The Quran is very precise on some issues, e.g. family law, inheritance, judgement day, life after death, oneness of the Creator etc. but less precise (or flexible) on some other issues, e.g. political system, financial economic system etc. , and hence open to interpretation. As for Dr. Naik, I believe he is very knowledgeable on religious issues. You may have problem with him, but I and many others have no issues.
I am no great fan of Dr .Naik but the truth is hundreds of people have accepted islam through him..... Humans make mistakes..but he is doing a great service to islam. May Allah help him.
I am no great fan of Dr .Naik but......
Despite the fact that I demonstrated he is a liar and misguides his followers?
