Easter, a day of Jubilation for the world, changed into a horror and chaos for the Pakistani’s in Lahore Pakistan. A suicide bomber detonated his jacket in a park full of Christian and Muslim civilians with their children, sending a shock waves around the world.
I had a terrible night. Scenes of dead bodies scattered everywhere and women holding innocent dead children asking why ? When will the world come to help us and when will all this end?
Living most of my adult life in the west and blogging, the questions, mostly asked to me by my friends are who is behind all this extremism and why? Why Taliban attack Pakistan when the general impression is that Pakistan harbors them? And finally what is the responsibility of the world to help eliminate terrorism?
No religion, Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism or Sikhism promote killing an innocent. Some in the west like to blame every bombing from New York to Lahore on Islam. Contrarily, The Quran says:“if anyone killed a person - it would be as if he killed all mankind, and if anyone saved a life,
it would be as if he saved the life of all mankind(Quran 5: 32) and Prophet Muhammad taught his disciples the Islamic rules of engagement. Peace be awarded to women, children, elderly, animals, trees and all those, who throw their weapons and hide inside their houses, he preached. Any true Muslim will have to abide by these rules.
Questions then are, who these war mongers of Al Qaeda, Taliban and ISIS? And why they are under the flag of Islam?
Answer is well documented. Saudi Arabia, the oil rich nation with Wahabi oil money has spread extremism globally and sparks a battle for soul of Islam. The ideology states that humans should worship Allah and nothing else and whoever refuses to believe in their religious ideology is an infidels deserving death, which not only make Christians but also 1.3 billion Muslims infidels.
Al Quide, Taliban and ISIS follow Saudi school of thought and often recruit angry, uneducated and disenfranchised young people, lured by money and trained for new way of life through false explaining of scriptures to commit heinous crimes against humanity.
The world is silent because an oil embargo by Saudi Kingdom will disrupt the life we are so accustomed too in the west and silently agreed to give few of our citizens as human price for Saudi oil.
In the case of Pakistan, for years Saudi money was channeled into Pakistan through religious school to teach “Jahad” or religious martyrdom and make Jihadist to fight war in Afghanistan against Russian invasion of Afghanistan in 80’s. Later these self-proclaimed “Islamic Robo Cops” were left, unattended and without rehabilitation to find their own way by the Western allies.
These war mongers formed militias for survival, still getting Saudi fund and Heroin money and fought each other in Afghanistan till the US invasion after 9/11.
Why Taliban blast bombs in Pakistan can be traced back to Pakistan’s strategic decision in 2001 to stand with the west in the war on terror. Then President Musharraf provided Air bases, logistical support, air space and sea port to allied forces in the war with Taliban. Soon Taliban declared Pakistan as enemy of Islamic State of Afghanistan and dispatched suicide bombers for Pakistan.
Threak e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) announced revenge for the collision and started its operations within Pakistan. Since being allies of the west in war on terror, 60.000 innocent civilians have lost their lives in suicide attacks in Pakistan. Sadly Taliban blame Pakistani for being ally of the West and West blames Pakistan for being ally of the Taliban.
More Pakistani citizens are dead in war on terror than the entire world combined, yet the world fails to give them the credit and acknowledgement they deserve. As a nuclear state, Safe Pakistan is in the interest of the world.
Lastly and most importantly, it’s not a religious war of Islam and Christianity. If you think it is, you have failed to understand this subject. If it was a holy war, do you think Muslims will be killing Muslims? There are more Muslims killed in the hands of Al Qeada, Taliban and ISIS than Christians.
We have 4 bombing in New York, London, Paris and Brussels in last 15 years while Pakistan alone have 6 bomb blast in last 3 month, not to mention blasts in Turkey, Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq. Its one theological country, Saudi Arabia, silently waging war on the world and the Security Council must take action.
The underline cause for recruitment by this extremist organization in country like Pakistan is lack of education, poverty and economic opportunities. We have spent billions on security apparatus on our airports and acquiring drone technology assuming, it will make us safe but we have failed to nip the devil in the bud.
In my opinion, nations with terrorism problems should not be given “Financial Aid” but let’s offer them “Open and Free Trade” creating job opportunities in their countries, let’s stop pampering their corrupt leaders with cash assistance and offer them Free Western style Schools and Universities and let’s stop
the military assistance to their establishments and offer their Student financial aid with graduates job opportunities in the west and I assure you both East and West will economically flourish and world will become more peaceful place for everyone.
