The KPK IT Park at COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Abbottabad, will occupy a newly established building at CIIT campus of 13,000 sqft area. This building comprises of separate office units comprising 2 rooms with attached bathroom and lounge area along with a kitchen.

The building is equipped with Power Supply, and power generator will be installed by IT Park for back up purpose. The building is also supplied with SNGPL connection that can be used for office heating.

This building is located at a quiet corner of CIIT campus that offers conducive environment for the professionals. A road from main gate of the campus leads to the facility at a walking distance of 5 minutes. The campus is located at a distance of about 300 meters from the main Mansehra Road just opposite Ayub Medical Complex.

The following other facilities will also be available to the companies at I.T Park.

Car Park:

COMSATS Abbottabad has sufficient parking space available on campus. Parking space for I.T. Park offices will be allotted on fair usage basis.

Security:

COMSATS Abbottabad will provide 24/7 security for the I.T. Park including security at Car Parking and the offices.

Inauguration of IT Park at CIIT Abbottabad was held on 18 July 2012 at CIIT Abbottabad Campus. It is a great privilege for CIIT Abbottabad that this IT Park has been established at CIIT Abbottabad Campus. Establishment of IT Park is aimed to promote IT culture and to create better job opportunities for the young generation of Hazara Division in particular and the whole KPK in general.
Mian Iftikhar Hussain, Information Minister KPK graced the event as Chief Guest. Minister for Science and Information Technology Mr. Ayub Ashari, Minister for Industries and Commerce, Syed Ahmed Hussain Shah, Minister for Auqaf, Hajj, Religious and Minority Affairs Namroz Khan, Secretary ST and IT Mr. Humayan Khan, Director Projects KP IT Board Mr. Arbab Usman along with officials of the IT board and software developing companies attended the ceremony.
Secretary ST & IT, Mr. Humayan Khan in his welcome address expressed his gratitude to all for attending the event. He enlightened the audience about the IT Park, its objectives and the services etc. He stated that 30 IT companies have been allotted place in this IT Park. He particularly thanked Prof. Dr. Khan Gul Jadoon, Director CIIT Abbottabad for providing all possible support for the establishment of IT Park in CIIT Abbottabad Campus. Mr. Arbab Usman, Director Projects KP IT Board presented the Brief on the IT Park established in two major cities of KPK- Peshawar and Abbottabad. He talked about the importance of IT in today’s world. He stated that revolutionary changes can be brought in the country using IT. He also apprised the audience of major IT achievements made by Pakistanis in the world. Minister for Auqaf, Hajj, Religious and Minority Affairs Namroz Khan in his address commended the step of establishing these IT Parks in KPK. He said that the establishment of these IT Parks will help address IT issues more effectively and would definitely provide a platform to IT companies to interact with each other.
Mr. Muhammad Ayub Khan, Minister for ST & IT KP gave vote of thanks to all participants. Minister for Industries and Commerce, Syed Ahmed Hussain Shah expressed his gratitude to the KPK government for selecting Abbottabad for the establishment of IT Park in Abbottabad. He said that CIIT Abbottabad is one of the best educational institutions of Pakistan. He stated that establishment of this IT Park in Abbottabad is a proof of the fact that KPK gives due importance to Hazara.
Provincial Minister for Information Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that establishment of Information Technology (IT) Park in Abbottabad would help reduce unemployment and prove a major source of earning for the province. He said that the provincial government had launched a number of welfare projects to improve the economy of the province despite multiple challenges.
