Lahore: According to Google Pakistan, state owned sports channel PTV Sports had remained on the top of the trending searches in 2013.
Google Pakistan revealed the top trending searches of 2013 in the country during a ceremony held at a local hotel, reported PakistanTribe on Tuesday.
According to the list, Dunya News was the only electronic media outlet in the top 10 slot. It remained No 5 in the list. Amongst the Pakistani newspapers, only Jang secured the No. 7 position.
Four out of top ten searches were about the Indian entertainment content, namely Ashiqui 2, Chennai Express, Big Boss 7 and Krish 3 on No 2, No 3, No 4 and No 9 respectively.
The famous Pakistani Drama Zindagi Gulzar Hai remained No 6, whereas, Mera Sultan (Urdu dubbed Turkish drama serial) remained No 10.
Moreover, the abbreviation ECP which stands for Election Commission of Pakistan also remained No 8 item Pakistanis searched during 2013. Not to forget that 2013 was the election year in Pakistan.
According to PakistanTribe, Pakistan is considered technology Hot Spot with its more than 40 million internet users and 130 million mobile phone subscribers. In terms of population (62% of Youth) Pakistan is the worlds sixth largest country. National and Multinational corporations with other local brands are using digital/social media to reach their consumers and to engage them with the brand.
