Iran is facing the same problem as Pakistan with the economy.
The only reason Iran has oil so their GDP climbed up nearly to $500 billion before the sanctions. Now that sanctions are enforced. Iran has no USD to cover up the dirty business of keeping currency balanced by spending USD.
This is exactly was Ishaq Dar did. He subsidised imports. So buying foreign products became cheaper, that is the reason IMF always funds corrupt govts. bcz of their incompetence ultimately the money ends up in the west.
