Curious about power/electicity too. I have read about indian electronic machine and they keep a bettry with every device to function without any need of depending on local electricity.
Looks like this EVM "prototype" or version 1.0 does not transmit data to a centralized database; say at Election Commission's office. Maybe in next upgrade they may come up with transmission of results using cellular phone or any mobile device.
But still this machine seems to prevent vote rigging by proper identification and one vote per person.
One more thing: Since this machine runs on electric power, therefore I am not sure what will happen in case of power outage (which is quite frequent in Pakistan).
