US President Barrack ObamaBarrack Obamas Grandmother is off to Saudi Arabia to celebrate this years Hajj in Medina and Mecca. Mrs. Obama was officially invited to Saudi Arabia by King AbdullahKing Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz to join the expected 2 million pilgrims who will converge in the holy cities. I have always dreamt of going to Mecca and now I have the opportunity said Mrs. Obama. She we will travel together with 5 family members. Going to visit Mecca and Medina is one of the five pillars of the Muslim faith. Muslims who can afford are required to undertake the pilgrim at least once in their life time. However President Obama is not a Muslim despite the fact that most of his family members in Kenya are Muslim. The five day pilgrimage starts on Monday and has lately attracted bad publicity because of the deaths that have occurred during the period. Saudi officials had however assured the faithful that adequate measures have being taken to ensure stampedes do not occur. Saudi government this week unveiled a light rail network that will connect the holy sites of Mina, Muzdallfah and Mt Arafat.
