Revamping Postal services

All over the country post offices exist.They have manpower which is usually idle.It is suggested that they should start express delivery of mail. TCS and other couriers charge a huge amount. Post offices has got the basic infrastructure in almost all big villages, a smaller investment is needed to enhance the prompt delivery of mail. These Post offices can also be used for remittances to villages from expatriates.

Network connectivity is not a big problem and solar power can be used to power computer hardware in these places where electric power is a problem. Converted rickshaws can be used at the village level for delivery. In cities we can use Chinese vehicles for delivery. All it take is commitment and the will to work. With careful and honest monitoring Post office Dept. can turn into a profitable organisation
