Karachi needs new Halqabandi. It is my personal opinion. It should not be handled as secret plan but as a regular plan to keep assure the rights of minorities in Karachi.

MQM is not more than 55% in Karachi but they winn elections with huge majority. All other minorities voice disappears because of current Halqabandi System which is in totaly advantage of MQM.

I expect from MQM followers their opinion in an educated manner how they see this? Should minorities in Karachi get their voice? Is it their right? Or only MQM should have presence?

One thing is for sure: Under current Halqabandi system it is impossible for minorities in Karachi to raise their voice.

I lived 21 years in Karachi and know very well the situation there. There is a problem which needs to be solved.

This plan is idiotic. Makes no sense whatsoever. This was the same plan hatched by the agencies in the 90s and which was actually carried out by some of them a while later. Did it work??

Who will carry this out? PPP does not have the manpower on the ground to carry this out. Thats why they rely on criminals now.

Let me tell you not just Urdu speaking vote for MQM anymore. All nationalities living in Karachi vote for MQM and are joining MQM in their thousands. If you want I can give you newspaper reports etc.

Counter argument would be if that MQM is 80 percent of Karachi, does it matter that 10000 votes from one constituency comes out of one and added to another constituency,

you used to win by a margin of 50000 so why should it matter for MQM, part added constituency will have your voters too

i know your halqabandi where is your halqabandi when you call sarhad kpk pathan is not the only people living in kpk where is your halqabandi when punjab have more national assembley seat punjabi is not the only who live in punjab there is mahjir live in punjab aswel go to karachi how many so call minorities holding a good post. most of the police and rangers are from punjab and interior sind go to steel mill most of them from interior sind look at the transport in karachi mostly take over by pathans. go to karachi airport most are from interior sind i have never seen you guys talking about merrit that will help us to develop pakistan . i know you have lots of pain for pathans,sindi,balochi punjabi but dont keep your pain where it suit you , i can tell you are anti mqm and trying to prove your point by making such suggestions if you have pain for these people go to interior sind go to interior and southern punjab and bolochistan and kpk give them basic needs atleast and then worry about so called karachi minority.

There is a huge growth in Karachi population

It will be a right and wise thing to have equal sized constituencies
Why does it bother MQM, if you were winning then you will win under new constituencies
no one from Larkana will be coming to vote against you...

No the crux of the article is halqabandi will be done in such a way so as to effect MQMs votes. Haqabandi should be fair and consisting of almost equal number of people.
