Pakistan International Airlines has launched flights from Faisalabad and Multan with inaugural flights landing at Dubai International on Monday, Dubai Airports said.

The flights will operate twice weekly.

The launch of the new flights was celebrated at an inaugural ceremony at DXB’s Terminal 1, where Jamal Al Hai, the Deputy CEO of Dubai Airports, welcomed Ghulam Dastagir, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, Ahmed Amjad Ali, the Consul General of Pakistan in Dubai, and senior representatives of PIA.

Pakistan is the fourth largest country market for DXB in terms of passenger volume, with four airlines operating 268 weekly flights to eight destinations. Passenger numbers between DXB and Pakistan reached 2 million in the first half of 2019.

PIA to start two weekly flights from F’abad to Dubai
October 30, 2019
RECORDER REPORT

FAISALABAD: National flag carrier Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is going to start two direct weekly flights from Faisalabad to Dubai from October 30, 2019.

This was stated by Qaisar Iqbal Divisional Manager PIA during his visit to Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) here today. He told that Divisional Commissioner Javed Mahmood Bhatti along with President FCCI Rana Sikandar Azam will jointly inaugurate the first PIA flight from Faisalabad to Dubai. He also formally extended an invitation to president FCCI for the inauguration ceremony.

President FCCI Rana Sikandar Azam appreciated the efforts of Chairman PIA Air Marshal Arshad Malik for the revival of national flag carrier. He said that chairman has taken bold steps to close unprofitable routes and instead start new flights on profitable routes where adequate passenger load is available. In this connection, he particularly mentioned 4 direct weekly flights from Faisalabad to Jeddah and one from Faisalabad to Madina.

He told that sufficient passenger load is available and due to passenger load seats are available on one month advance booking on these routes. He told that a large number of passengers visit Iraq for “Ziaraat” in Najaf (Iraq). He said that PIA should exploit this opportunity and start at least one weekly flight for Faisalabad to Najaf.
