اکتوبر میں پاکستان کی وزارت انفارمیشن ٹیکنالوجی کا وفد پے پال کمپنی کی انتظامیہ سے مذاکرات کرنے امریکا گیا تھا تاکہ کمپنی کو اپنی سروسز پاکستان میں لانچ کرنے پر قائل کیا جا سکے، لیکن وہ اس میں کامیاب نہ ہوسکا۔

پے پال کی جانب سے جاری اپنے روڈ میپ میں واضح طور پر پاکستان کو بتا دیا گیا ہے کہ ان کے مسقبل قریب میں پاکستان میں سروسز کے آغاز کا کوئی ارادہ نہیں۔​

PayPal, the American company that operates a worldwide online payments system is not coming to Pakistan.

As per local media reports, officials at PayPal has told the Pakistani delegation that as of now Pakistan is not part of their programme for at least three years citing lack of business opportunities in the country.

Last month, an Information Technology Ministry of Pakistan delegation tried to convince the company to introduce its services in the country.

The National Institute of Technology Board said that Pakistan wants PayPal to start operations in the country to facilitate Pakistanis earning in foreign countries as they are facing problems in transferring money to Pakistan from there.

However, PayPal reviews its operations every year and there is a possibility that it might enter Pakistan in the future, the board said.

Back in February, Asad Umar, who was the finance minister then has said that the government is committed to bringing Paypal to Pakistan. “PayPal has neither stuck at my desk nor at any other government institution. In fact, we are chasing PayPal for the breakthrough," said Asad Umar.

As of 2019, PayPal operates in 202 markets and has over 286 million active, registered accounts. PayPal allows customers to send, receive, and hold funds in 25 currencies worldwide.

i can understand your concern but it's very difficult to attract big companies to pakistan because the damage last two governments have done and it will take time to undone their work. nevertheless government should just carry on the reform agenda they are on and hopefully more and more companies will come here.

حالانکہ پاکستانی وفد نے پے پال حکام کو سٹیٹ بینک اور دیگر اداروں کی طرف سے مالی معاملات کی شفافیت اور سکیورٹی سے متعلق کیے گئے اقدامات سے آگاہ کر کے انہیں پاکستان میں مکمل سہولیات فراہم کرنے کی یقین دہانی بھی کروائی تھی۔ یاد رہے کہ سابق وزیر خزانہ اسد عمر نے بھی پاکستان میں پے پال کو لانے کا اعلان کیا تھا اور کہا تھا کہ اس حوالے سے کوششیں کر رہے ہیں تاہم تب بھی پے پال نے پاکستان آنے سے انکار کر دیا تھا جس کے بعد تین ماہ قبل پاکستان کی حکومت نے ایک بارپھر آن لائن ادائیگیوں کا نظام چلانے والی بین الاقوامی امریکی کمپنی پے پال کو ملک میں لانے کی کوششیں تیز کر دی تھیں۔

i disagree with this. Recently Pakistan IT exports reached 1B$ and it has alot of potential to scale up if payment processors like paypal are available for the people here in Pakistan.
