Pakistan reaches out to China for more fighter jets and missiles

The J-10CE is the export version of the J-10 with the People's Liberation Army Air Force and has the AESA radar, fire-control systems and Infrared technology.

New Delhi: The arrival of two squadrons of the Rafale fighters will be a game-changer, Pakistan has realised. And in desperation, Pakistan has reached out to China for 30 J-10CE fighters and modern air-to-air missiles for its air force.

Pakistan had asked for the J-10 in 2009. But with the joint production of the JF-17 by China and Pakistan, the J-10 was placed in the backburner. Now, with the Rafales coming, discussions between China and Pakistan have begun again, high-level government sources said. Along with the J-10CE, Pakistan has asked for the PL-10 and PL-15, short-range and long-range air-to-air missiles respectively.

With the United States gradually getting close to India, China has become Pakistan's only supplier of sophisticated weapons. The J-10CE is the export version of the J-10 with the People's Liberation Army Air Force and has the AESA radar, fire-control systems and Infrared technology.

The Pakistan Air Force isn't just worried about the Rafale, which comes with the Meteor air-to-air missile and also, the Mica missile, that can be air-launched. The S-400 air defence system and the MR-SAM or Medium-range surface-to-air missile system will be considerable threats to PAF fighters.

The PAF is dependent on its 124 JF-17 fighters, co-produced with China, it's 70odd F-16s and the Mirage 3A. If, or rather, when the J-10CE arrives with the missiles, it will be another challenge for the IAF.

5th generation will take time.............Available option is J-31 but can not be inducted in big numbers and even mass production has not started as of date today.

Pakistan have to replace its F-16 Fleet. I think J-31 or anything coming out of Project Azm will be a good choice........................But J-31 shall be adopted if it exceeds performance of F-16............................

Pakistan won 1965 war, 1971 happens because of Gaddar Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. If he accepted his defeat and allow sheikh mujibur rahman to become PM, we will still be one country.
Punjabi Army was also involvved in supporting Bhutto. Had they forced Bhutto to accept his defeat, things would have been much different now. We all know politics is dirty and our army and our Army played their part in it.
Punjabi Army is physically strong but mentally weak and Bengali May have been physically weak but mentally very strong, educated and intelligent. Majorly of the credit of 1965 war goes to Bengali Airforce pilots in PAF.
Wars are won by both physical and mental strength. After losing East Pakistan, punjabi from being minority (Compare to Bengali population), became majority in Pakistan and slowing begin to influence their culture on others. The game that was played against East Pakistan is now being played against Karachi. Karachi is suffering from last 30 years but Army hasn’t done anything to fix the root cause of problem.

2 - The reason we lost 71 war was the result of enmity between Sheikh mujeeb (traitor), and of course our very own ZA Bhutto (big traitor). Army was never part of the equation. At that time, the Army was not heavily politicized. This is the gift of ZA Bhutto who politicized the army for his own personal gains. So you can abuse ZA Bhutto all you want. The reason for our defeat was never Army. It was ZA Bhutto khabees and his masters in Iran.

3 - The war of 65 was won and it is recorded in the annal of history that we took a large part of Khem Karan. However, our very own Field Marshal lost it on the table. Even then Army was not the culprit, it was out politicized general.

4 - Kargil war was lost by our very own famous political leader ( The greatest AZAB on our nation) Mr. Nawaz Sharif. I don't have to delve into details. You know the truth.

Its just a small part of our defence force and contrary to what you believe, they are also reliant on the equipment (planes) available to them in order to compete effectively with a numerically superior enemy. Our F16 are outdated and JF17 is just a light weight budget aircraft, that can’t really compete with 5th generation fighter jets.

Point is: that rather than lining their own pockets and trying to cash in with luxurious post retirement packages our Generals and Air-commanders should be investing public money in upgrading their fleet. Tryto make use of pakistan’s strategic position, which is of interest to both US and China. Instead what we have is just a chumchageer and brainless foreign policy and greedy selfish Military generals.

You can choose to remain a brainless Sheikh Chili. May be that’s all you are capable of.
